For every negative, there is a positive. What proof is there that THEY are way behind every other school or underqualified? If they are destined to be clowns or work at a fast-food chain, maybe they can spell & count $$. Must be other issues far from the school.

Como-Pickton School is an excellent school. Three of my four children graduated from CP and they continued their education and all are successful. I think the negative reviews come from parents that need some improving themselves. Don't blame CP if your child does not work and seek an education. It is there for the taking.

como-pickton is full or underqualified teachers who teach way behind every other school in the county. Como is the last place to send your child, for an education that will last and actually mean something. This school shows that the teachers have a lack of educating and teaching our children. Maybe if our children are destin to be a clown or work at fast food chains all their life that is the school to send them to. This school is the last place to send your child for him/her to have any chance of bettering themselves.

Como-Pickton School and district, in my opinion, is the best overall school in Hopkins county. The school is very focused on the success of my children and provides a safe environment for them each day. The teachers strive to improve and become more effective. I feel that if my child does his or her part, and if I support the learning process, we will not be disappointed. I whole-heartedly recommend this school and district to anyone in the area.

We recently moved from Sulphur Springs to Como, so I had to swith schools as well. Let's just say this, you can clearly see the difference in education level between the two districts. The majority of the staff and teachers are far below the standards of a school such as SSISD. That is why I am transfering as soon as possible back to SSISD, and potential future Como-bound pupi, I suggest you do the same.

Mr. Wellman is a great principal. He cares about all the students. He is looking into offering more vocational type programs as well as other things. When he tells the kids he will do something, he follows thru. He coaches the jr high boys for his love of the game and love of the kids.

I would not recommend this school. There are a few teachers that are exceptional, but the majority of the faculty are less than satisfactory.

Como Pickton elementary is an excellent school. TAKS scores are high, teacher to student ratio is excellent and teachers are wonderful. The PTO at Como Pickton is extremely involved, offering programs and numerous opportunities for parents to be involved. The school district also involves the community. Community members are able to have a student assigned to them to read to in the school library at least one day a week. CPISD elementary is highly recommended.
