I have two children that are currently in the sixth grade and attend Seagoville Middle School. I was nervous at first send them to middle school. My nervousness lasted only a week. The teachers strive to make our children a success in school. I have a great communication will all my children's teachers. Principal Washington along with her strong successful teachers and admin staff have really lifted this school to an amazing level. Keep up the outstanding work!!!

As a parent of a child of thatvwent to this school I can honestly say I have never been to a more disorganized school then seagoville ms. I cannot belive how unqualified the teachers and staff are. Its so sad to see that these people were responsible for my childs education. Bullying was very high but they seemed to turn a blind eye because they are so lazy.this school needs a new principal that actually cares because the new one straight out seems mental and is full of it.

The experience I had at the school was horrible. The teachers are lost. Instead of taking the time out for their student they rather send the home. On top of that they suspended them n still mark them absence.... I have been to court twice because they just will not do their job...please choose another school because this is not the one.. My son will not be there for his 7th grade yr.

In 2012, I was invited to be principal for the day at SMS. I was quite shocked at the attitude displayed by both the office staff and administration. The environment was unpleasant and not conducive to learning. This year, I received a personal invitation from one of DISDs Trustees to be principal for the day again and I CANNOT TELL YOU WHAT A WONDERFUL, UPLIFTING EXPERIENCE IT WAS! Not only was the office staff warm and welcoming, the new principal is really top-notch and on the ball! I witnessed teachers who wanted to teach engaging students who wanted to learn! There was organization, participation and enthusiasm from both sides! I would encourage anyone who had a negative experience with SMS in the past to pay them a visit. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

This school is a joke. Parents please understand that this school is just a daycare so you can go to work. My child was not safe at this school and its sad that this school just cant get it right. I found another school for my child to go to. I wont nothing to do with DISD. I wish Seagoville would build more schools so that they can have their own district. Seagoville Middle school needs to shut down, because its awful.

This is a bad school. If you care about your kids you won't send them here. not even the school counselor can be trusted.

This school is absolutely horrible! Never, and I mean never enroll a child here if you have a choice. This school is more worried about what type of back pack you have, and the dress code. It is not cleaned properly and the staff is dreadful. They do not teach students properly, instead they spend their time yelling at us when they haven't even made an attempt to teach us. If you don't believe me, ask some of the parents. They know what goes on here, and not many of them like it. I'm a 6th grade student at Seagoville Middle School, I'm also one of the best students in the 6th grade, with an A honor roll and almost perfect record, yet this is the worst school I have EVER seen in my life.

its more like a prison. My kids hate it and now I see why. The staff doesn't seem to care about the comfort of the kids in any way, which can hurt the learning. Also too many bullies from what my kids say.

Most of the teachers are dedicated, hard working and care for the students. The problem is with the administration. The principal is ill and unable to fulfill her duties adequately. The assistant dean is incompetent and harasses the teachers. She also favors certain teachers over others and tampers with the test scores to make her favorites have higher scores.

This school is the worst school I ever been to. I would sometime fake being sick so i wouldnt have to go. This school will make you wont to drop out. Some of my teachers were rude and the principals were rude too. I couldnt wait to go to my new school this year called Terry Middle School. I love it and everybody is so nice. Im learning alot now and I dont have to feel like droping out of school. I stay with other family in mesquite so I can go to school out here. I miss my room at home, but dont miss Seagoville middle school.

This school in my opinion is a failure as well as a insult to all of us in the community. I was having some concerns about my child s education , and got to meet with one of the principals of this school who was lacking poor emotional intelligence/interpersonal savvy competency. I had to find someone else that worked for the school district to assist me when all it took was effective communication from this principal to get what was needed for my child. It s really disappointing to me on how uncaring the principal is, and how unprofessional the office staff can be. The other problem is some of the poorly trained teachers that fail in communicating with parents, and showing concern on how to help your child succeed. The school Superintendent needs to help retrain or do a clean house to help get the school back with positive reviews.

The school is overcrowded, and children are not really learning anything. Its better if you home school your child or move out of DISD area. Its not going to get better here at this school until parents fight for their children education. My child was one that was left behind in this school, and I went and enrolled her in the K-12 online school. My child is learning, and I am once again happy.

This school need to be closed. The children are not learning. My twins went to this school in 2008. Im so glade I was renting a house because I was able to move. I moved to Mckinney and now my children make A's and B's. The school has a score of 9. You cant beat that!!! I really hope this school can do better. I really feel bad on the people that cant move and have to accept this school.

Seagoville Middle School will get there; they have a new Principal and a lot of new teachers this year that are focuesed on succuess. I think it helps when the parents support the teachers and other staff. I have ran into a rude person or two in the office and nurses office and another but the contact with my child's teacher has been really good. They are willing to help him out in anyway they can to make sure he learns and succeeds. So, I think we need to support SMS and be very involved parents. I think we stepped back a little and give our kids some room when they become teenagers but we need to be seen at the school, functions with the teachers always. Let's keep our kids focused on school and family and not let them turn to drugs and bad influences.

We have just foster 1 child in this school, he came from an all F's in 5 subjects and 1 B in computers. The school was in Indiana. When arriving at this school he has (1/2 school year) brough up all grades (2 70's, 2 over 75 and 2 over 80). The only problem that I have are two things. 1) the staff in office are very unrespectable, not helpful and at time rude, based on 4 visit that i've gone. 2) the counciling do not follow up with students and are very hard to set up a schedule with them, not even call back when leaving a message..

I went to SMS a few years ago, and I have to admit that it was an okay school. Athough, I have to give credit to some wonderful teachers which are Mrs. Moran (Social Studies), Mrs. Danser (FTA), and TAG teacher) Mrs. Boshart (Language Arts PreAP) Ms. Kemble (Language Arts) and Mrs. Pate (SS) great teachers that care about the learning environment. I'm hoping that the school becomes a better institution that imparts knowledge soon!

After a week at this school we removed our child. This school is not focused on teaching the children. Teachers are very unconcerned and unprepaired at dealing with learning issues.

This school is horrible! Starting from the staff all the way down to the educational material used. The staff is so unfriendly, and discipline is a joke! To suspend a student for being tardy to class or for not wearing a belt? C'mon! Suspension should be reserved for serious measures, not for your belt loops not having a belt through them. DISD needs a serious reality check!

There is no greater force than educators who care backed by supportive parents. It is such a great honor to have history with these types of educators. Parents should be saddened by the level of education our children receive at Seagoville Middle School. Never have I encountered staff members (not all) with such disregard for educating our future. Most schools actually have curriculums posted, so parents may assist their children with current subjects; I challenge anyone to find such information on this website. You can consider yourself a very blessed individual if your child brings home one homework assignment per week. After sending several notes to various teachers, pleading for additional assignments, we began creating out own worksheets in order to supplement the poor education Seagoville Middle School Administration allows to occur. Signed, Back to the Charter School we go!

First rate principal and very quick to jump on discipline concerns. Virtually no gang problems and academic progress is continually monitored. Very safe and friendly school.
