My children are both 'A' students and education for them at Escandon is easy. I feel that they are not being properly chanllenged. I feel that there should be a class for the 'smarter' children in order for them to be able to get ahead (challenged) and not get bored.
I like the school and the system they use at the beginning of the school year, yet towards the end they stop and lose focus on the kids learning capabilities.
I have had multiple contacts with the principle and am not satisfied with her demeaner. She jokingly visits with teachers and has little respect for herself as an educator and the teachers mock her as she passes by. Teachers feel that she is easily deceived and thus making the school a less effective learning institutuion. I rate the principle a 2 because of her lack of proffessionalism.
I have 2 daughters at Escandon Elem. I see a great staff, the principal is one of the best in the district. I hope she sticks around for a long time. Thanks Escandon for a job well done, and my hats off to Mrs Gloria Rivera.
This school has proven itself to be successful and overall, exemplary. The staff, teachers, and leaders of this school provide a funloving, excelled, and enriching curriculum. The parental involvement program helps keep parents and the community abreast of strategies and research to better the education of their children.
