This school district is absolutely awful.... My children attended for one year....The bullying is terrible and if you are not from there, but the person who is bullying your child is - they will NOT do anything about it.... Also - I was told by my child and several other students, because two coaches who taught history and biology were being fired at the end of the year, the kids spent 7 - 8 wks straight watching movies..... My son did two 9 wk terms of work - I had to go out of state for a month due to personal reasons and signed him out because there was no one for them to stay with - so instead of issuing credits or warning me they wouldn't, they refused to issue credits to him....this puts my son a semester behind.... When I told the counselor of lack of educational quality - her response was, "what does that have to do with you signing him out?" Yet when we enrolled all she talked about was the high school football.... This is a typical redneck small town mentality of nothing but high school football matters and education is secondary.... I will be contacting the Texas Education Agency regarding this school district! DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE!

All though I feel Mr. Wright is a good Principal, there are other needs at the school. Teacher quality is lacking along with other things. Another extracurricular Activiies are lacking there are none if your not in football or powerlifting well, and Parent involement well like its the same every year. Safety and Discipline well it depends on who you are. Depending on who you are or whom your parent is depends on your decipline and everyone elses safety.

I think that is a overall good school district and the teachers really care about the students learning and both the staff and the students are always on top of things and they get the job done. GO COWBOYS!

I went to Edna High School and graduated. I am in college and I personally think that Edna High School did a great job of preparing me. I have straight A's and have no problem learning or comprehending what is taught to me. Mr. Wright was my principal the last year I was there and he did a fine job as well. I think that those who are concerned more with how a school looks than what is taught and how caring the staff is should probably take a closer look at themselves rather than criticizing what others are trying to do to help.

There just is not enough extracurriclar activities at this school. They only have the bare minimum that they think they need.

Thank goodness we are out of this school district now! The main problem lies in the superintendent and the school board. The elementaries are falling down around the teachers and kids and the High school is just plain filthy. We do not feel our children were being prepared for a college education and would have to have had extensive tutoring. The only person who remotely cares is the High School principal - Mr. Wright - maybe he would be a good superintendent.
