The Intermediate School has high quality of staff and cirriculum. It offers music weekly and art within the content areas. Since it is only for 4th and 5th there are not to many extracurricular activities, like sports, but they participate in and host UIL competitions. There is a great deal of parent involevement with a very active PTO.
EIS is a good school in general. They have great UIL programs and the music teacher is super. The one thing I would change is communication. I would love a consistent newsletter and parent conferences should be scheduled without having to ask for one. Ennis schools are good in general and on the right track.
I think because this school is still extremely new, there are many opportunities for growth and advancement. I am disappointed in the lack of experience some of the teachers have and would like to see more experienced teachers employed. I also feel the school can improve its safety and discipline. Another major area of opportunity is with the school lunches. Many of the foods offered are fried and are lacking in nutritional content.
