I have one child who has already attended K-5, one in 2nd and one who will be there soon. I am so grateful to live in this school pyramid in the FWISD. The Staff and PTA are fabulous! I have held numerous PTA positions and volunteering is always welcomed!

Our grandchild attends Ridglea Hills Elementary School. They attend 1st grade and we have been very happy with the quality of education. Our grandchild is excelling in all areas and is above grade level in math and reading. We love how encouraging the teachers have been and the creative efforts to address the needs of our grandchild. This school is like a family and they have wonderful events for families. A top school in the Fort Worth area.

AWESOME public school with an excellent staff!. I've had 2 children go through this school and both were challenged, excelled and were well prepared for middle school. Parent involvement is extraordinary and the PTA provides lots of exceptional experiences and extra activities for students throughout the year. The art teacher and music teacher are outstanding and the long-time campus monitor ensures a safe and friendly environment for the kids and the parents..

Outstanding school!! I have had a wonderful experience at this school. My children have been challenged academically and had a very positive social experience. The parental community is very supportive of the school and the teachers were all good. Some were excellent, even better than we experienced at private schools. I highly recommend this school!

RHE office staffs are very very very mean. They are very rude!!!!! I feel unpleasant to them. School environment is not good-very dirty. The only good thing is teacher and nurse. Nurse is very kind and My son's teacher is very great that is why i don't move yet. But I don't want to see staffs anymore and I'm totally disappointed at this school and we are going to move next year.

My child spent two miserable years at this school before we switched to a private school. Bullying and exclusion are far too prevalent - and that's just the adults! If you didn't grow up in this neighborhood yourself, and if you actually work for a living, good luck! We now have a lot of damage to undo, thanks to Ridglea Hills.

My daughter started kindergarten at Ridglea Hills and is now in first grade there. She previously attended a Montessori school and I was worried about the public school not measuring up. My fears were all unfounded! She has had an excellent education and social experience at Ridglea Hills. The Principles and teachers are all invested in the over-all experience of the students. Parents are encouraged to help out and are obviously appreciated! I know a student who has attended since she was in kindergarten. She in now a fourth grader. She is an excellent student who is very comfortable with all academics. It is not only thanks to the parents involvement, but also the care and attention she has received from this school!

I have two kids currently attending this school and one graduated from it. For over the past three years I have watched how the school works. Principal leadership, parent involvement, and children's curriculum and activities are all great. Moreover, the school is surrounded in a very nice residential area. Very safe environment and good carpool... Furthermore, the school has been promoted to 'Exemplary School' for the 2008-2009 school year! I highly recommended this school. Go Righlea Hills!

My daughter attended this school past year 2008-09 as a second grade student. The parent involvement is outstanding. I like having the weekly emails to keep me posted on the activites the school is doing. The principle and assistant principle was absolutely great to work with. I like the fact that they are very creative on fundraising, than the traditional candy brochure or candle sales. Parent involvement is highly encouraged and supported by staff at this school.

My son started Kindergarten at RHE this past fall, and we have been very pleased with our experience so far. The PTA is great and we love his teacher and the school's administrative staff. We both work full time, and we got off to a rocky start with the after care program. The on site after school care was not up to par with our standards for, but once we made other arrangements, it has been smooth sailing since. That said, I don't agree that if you work you will be on the outside. Any school requires parent involvement to be successful, we just make it a priority to do what we can within the confines of our work schedules.

This is my son's first year at RHE. I am pleased with his educational experience so far. I am a bit concerned for the years to come as the demographic of the school change. I feel its important to be involved in my son's education and we keep an open line of communication with my son and his teacher about what happens at school.

I have been pleasantly surprised at the teachers and the new principal of RH. Coming from a private school, we were very nervous about the level of attention our child would be getting, only to find it better than the private school my child attended last year! The principal is professional and fits in very well with the PTA. My child's 1st grade teacher is wonderful and informative. We couldn't be happier!

As a parent I am appalled that bullying is tolerated at any FWISD. There is bullying going on in the fifth grade invovling both the boys and the girls and no one in the administration seems to care. I have had it and am moving my kids as soon as possible. Parents have to everything in this school. If you work don't send your kids here as you will always be on the outside.

Very dissapointed about RHE and in general of the public education system, this is our second year at RHE, we thought our last year experience was just that, a bad experience, as can happen every where, but this year is even worse than last one. If we, as a parents knew how to read the school report card you'll see this is just s B school and to far to be a A school (I didn't know my self until a friend that works in the ISD help me to understand the school report card). We had a bad experience with the teacher last year and this year is not better than last, definitely we are going back to private school. Last years this school was rated 8, now is 7. I great PTA isn't enough to have a great school. They are teaching only to the test, kids need more.

This is our first year at Ridglea Hills and I am thrilled. The teachers are great and the parents, especially the PTA, are really on the ball. We moved in order to attend this school and I couldn't be happier.

I was always and still am impressed with quality of the school. the At first, I was not quite sure about the new principal, but the more I see her and got to know her, I misjudged her and I think she does a great job. Being her first year, I am sure that she's getting the feel of our school.

Our experience with this school has left us very dissapointed in the public system for many reasons. First and foremost was the disciplinary measures that are taken with the children. I feel there should be more positive measures put in place. There seems to be too much emphasis put on the negative and not much reward for the good behaviors. The school environment should be nurturing and intriguing for the children, and they should feel safe and comfortable. The level of age difference and education is very broad between children within the same grade, and I do not feel this gives every child an equal chance. The 'testing scores' are pushed so that the real education needs for the children on an individual basis are overlooked and rely mostly on the parents to be on top of their child's learning progress. Principal needs to make some changes for a positive school.

I think RH is a really good school for the most part. I do have concerns about the principal though. This is my childs 3rd year here and I must say I was very disappointed by the new principal. I never see her interact with the children. I am the type of parent who likes to check in on the special ed to see how they react with the children with special needs like my child and the principal does not agree with that. The teachers have never had a problem before with me doing that. It mkaes me feel like they have something to hide. I have seriously concidered changing schools because of the principal only.

Well I like that the school's PTA is very activity but what I don't like is that for parents that work far away that they do not open the school until 7:30 a.m. So if you need to be at work at 8:00 you will be late.

This school has a lot of East European immigrant families living nearby. It is in a nice neighborhood, but is a little dated inside and out. They have a pre-K program for 4yr old kids that fills up fast!

A lot of pressure is placed on students at RHE. Great parent involvement... maybe too much to where it interfers with the learning atmosphere. The principal needs to work on her communication skills amongst co-workers,parents & students especially during stressful times such as TAKS! There is a lot of 'stacking' that takes place at RHE... a lot of 'smart' kids in one class with the 'good teacher' and the 'leftovers' with the 'other' teachers! Makes it very LOPSIDED! And this occurs throughout ALL GRADES! TAKS is crammed down everyone's throats at RHE...very stressfull...this school is struggling with it's scores and it shows! The more pressure you incorporate, the less productivity you'll see. Good school that's going downhill...it's time for the principal to seek other avenues! Best thing RHE has is the new Art teacher who has to float amongst other FWISD schools! Kuddos to Mr. Williams who believes in the children!

My child enrolled in Ridglea Hills just this year, coming from a nearby 'highly rated' school district. I find the education at RH to be on a much higher level than that other district, and I am very pleased. She is learning more here and being academically challenged. I think this school is tops because they focus mainly on producing a high level of academics for all students, including the 'high' ones. In other supposedly better districts, my child was often ignored academically simply because she made 100's on almost everything. I love RH, and highly recommend it. As to other reviews condemning the TAKS work, the current TAKS tests are actually very academically sound and relevant to skills the children need in life. The test is much improved from the way it used to be.

This school is to be one of the top quality schools, yet that only applies to test scores. The school focuses completly on TAKS and leaves out the traditional purpose of laying a good academic foundation that is well rounded. Students are molded for taking tests from 1st grade on, students are left to fall in between the cracks because the test takes priority. Parents should think carefully before enrolling their child in this school. There is obvious discrimination and segregation in the classrooms.

With a couple of children attending this school, we've gone through all grades and the higher the grade, the worse the teachers (with the exception of Mrs. Wilkins & Mrs. Miller)! The school-wide focus is TAKS TAKS TAKS! Too much pressure expected out of these children, it's amazing that they can even have time to use the restroom. HELLO, it's not HARVARD. The principal is extremely moody from day to day. While the parent involvement is there, not all parents,or their involvement, are made to feel welcomed by the staff(in other words...the more money the better your kids have it amongst the staff). Too much gossip amongst the teachers/parents about unprofessional information of others take place so much you feel like you're attending high school again. If you have children that have to attend this school be prepared for a military-school atmosphere...tuck in your uniform shirt OR ELSE! LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR BETTER EDUCATION!

Our daughter is in first grade. While she had a great teacher (mrs. Shlields)for k, this year has exposed what the school is really about: taks and raising money. Many teachers are old-fashioned, be-quiet-feet-on floor-all-in-line types. Rh is lost in a 1950's education box, and much more concerned with test scores and competitive 'learning enhancements' like the accelerated reading program. My six-year-old reads well above grade level, reads varied material, but because she does not focus strictly on 'star' books from swchool library, does not rate highly in ar program. She doesn't qualify for the big prizes accorded those who drill thru the lib. Books. This harms her self-esteem. What a shame for a girl who can read nancy drew, alone, cover to cover in about 3 days. Avoid this school--if you can. Administrators stress thinking inside the box. What a delight.

I currently have 1 child in this school. I have also had a child complete this school K-5. Overall we were very pleased until we got to 5th grade. The teachers lack compassion for the students and the parents as well. There is no communication with the 5th grade teachers and parents. The students are treated like they are in high school. The teachers seem to forget that these kids are still only 10 years old! My child is now in 6th grade and in 4 honors classes and is having no troubles. I sincerely hope things get better before my next child reaches 5th grade.

Ridglea Hills Elementary is a wonderful learning community. The teachers truly love children and make great personal sacrifices to ensure their success. The academic standard is high, and truly no child is left behind.

When I moved here last July they were very helpfull getting me enrolled in the right school. When school first started my child didn't know how to read very well and the teacher did all she could to make sure he was up to speed with the other children. He was making a 72 when school started an now he is making a 94. The teacher he has is just wonderful and she lets me know whats going on all the time. I couldn't ask for anyone better.

We recently moved here from another state and I have to say that this school might have high test scores but they are lacking in many other areas. The teacher interaction with the parents is nonexistant at least for third grade. I haven't heard anything about PTA meetings. Its hard for parents to stay involved here.
