Fort Worth Christian School

I praise the middle school. However, the quality of education, teachers, and leadership at the elem. has declined terribly. Do not buy a backpack for your child or the teacher may "prefer" a different kind so you'll be out more $ for a new one, be ready for your child be be humiliated by the teacher infront of the class to tears, as a parent be ready to be scolded by the teacher in the pick up line, be ready because the principal isn't a student or parent advocate just a teacher advocate that is more of a politically correct side stepper (If you voice a grievance it will either be ignored, snubbed, or not addressed), be ready for your child to walk laps around the playground as punishment infront of the other kids on the playground for small things like forgetting to put their name of their paper. (I even saw one little girl who had leg surgery, sutures, and cast made to walk around the playground!) Lastly if you're moving your child to the elementary from public (especially 4-5th grade) be prepared to spend literally hours each night on homework which affects your family life. Lastly DO NOT pay all the tuition upfront or it's lost if you want to pull your child out sooner.

I kind of like going here. It's fun, but if u aren't lively or u don't fit in with the popular kids, ur pretty much stuck, because if u leave to a public school re-learning everything will drive u insane. If u aren't athletic u feel extremely left out. It gets better as the grades get higher; I recommend coming in, at the very lowest, 6th grade. The only great part is that there is always someone there to help, usually with the same, or a worse situation in school and personal life. And in klubhouse everyone is a great friend, but mostly because there is nothing better to do. Oh, and don't join in fifth.

Our child was lost in a sea at the public Texas elementary schools. We looked very hard at the local private schools and found fwc had the most positive student and parent feedback. We wanted a rigorous academic environment, good athletics, lots of science and technology, music, language and a strong fine arts program. We felt that the christian curriculum was a bonus for moral development. We've been beyond happy with the school. And for the first time in years our child seems very happy at school as well. The teachers truly care and know the children. They are not just another student. They know the strengths and struggles of the child and work to guide them into a successful student. We cannot speak high enough of our new school.

My child has attended fWC for 3 years. As the fees increased, the quality decreased. There are very high expectations of the kids but not sufficient qualified teaching to meet those expectations thus many parents are told their kids are ADD or ADHD and they suggest you take them to the dr and get meds, they diagnose kids inappropriately and offer no help/tutoring or assistance to improve grades. I had my child assessed by the best in DFW and they told me to take my child out of FWC asap or it would affect my childs self esteem. I would not recommend FWC to a single parent, beware!

After researching several private schools in the area my husband and I chose Fort Worth Christian School for our family. We felt like FWC offered so much and would give our children every opportunity for them grow and learn while developing their special talents. My daughter started FWC last year as a kindergarten student. Her experience with Mrs. Owen, her teacher, was wonderful. It was evident from the start that Mrs. Owen loves every child and has a true gift for encouraging them right where they are. This year she has Mrs. Tackett in first grade and she is loving school! We are amazed at what she is learning. We are excited to see that even in the elementary school, technology is used and the students have iPads to research and enhance their classes. Along with Christian values taught in the classroom, chapel and Bible classes are helping her learn more about God and His great plan for her life. I enjoy learning Bible verses with her. This may sound like a commercial for FWC but we couldn t be happier! We look forward to our son starting kindergarten in 2013.

We have been involved with FWC for 40+ years and words can not do justice to the many ways our family has been blessed. We have children in all three buildings and the love and attention that each of them receive is beyond what we could ever ask for. Each teacher takes a personal interest in each child and goes above and beyond any expectation that we could have. We have children involved in both athletics and fine arts and the support that each child receives from the school is incredible. There is a "small town" feeling you get when you are on the campus.....it takes away the "city" feeling we would experience in other places. Each child is held accountable for his/her actions, and for this we are grateful. My children have Bible classes everyday, and are given the opportunity to worship God each day they are in school. While we believe that our home should be the main source of spiritual guidance, FWC enhances our beliefs and teachings in a wonderful way. So many families have been effected in a positive way because of the influence of the teachers, staff, administrators, and other students. We would recommend FWC to any family that we have the opportunity to.

Thanks to our GREAT HS art teachers Ms. "Art" and Mrs. Crist: TAPPS District Art Competition (March 3, 2011) Overall FWC Art Team 1st TAPPS State Art Competition (March 25-26, 2011) Overall FWC Art Team 5th of 21 teams Choir The FWC High School Advanced Choir scored a 1 on their performance of Mozart's Placido E Il Mar at the TAPPS Region Competition at Pantego Christian on March 7. They advanced to the TAPPS State Competition on April 9. 2nd at Winter Park Music Festival in Colorado Three soloists advanced to State for scoring a perfect 1 The FWC Endeavour Literary Magazine highlights the amazing creativity of our FWC high school students, providing a forum for the publication of their visual and written art.

Fort Worth Christian School has been a profound blessing for our entire family. The teaching staff is highly qualified, but what makes them stand out is the Christ-like manner in which they teach. Our children are loved, encouraged, and nourished through a Biblical perspective. They are valued and taught to value others. The friendships they have made at FWC are priceless! I thank God every day that our children have the opportunity to learn in an environment that fosters their spiritual growth, and that also offers numerous choices for development that are not strictly academic - community service, missions, art, music, class trips, sports & more! At FWC, the whole child is nurtured. Moving our kids to Fort Worth Christian is one of the best decisions we have ever made.

My son enrolled in Fort Worth Christian School as a junior last year. I was concerned about him changing school two years before graduating. What we saw immediately was how he connected with his teachers and really liked them. This was a new experience for him. The teachers encouraged and challenged him academically making the transition a really good one. He was able to receive 12 college hours by taking dual credit classes and he really liked the MacBooks that was given to the students. We appreciate the school teaching Bible, Christian values and service to others. Our son had the opportunity to go on one of FWC's mission trips to Nicaragua this year. It was a life-changing experience he will never forget. These quality experiences helped him develop some good friendships. We look forward to a great senior year at FWC.

Fort Worth Christian School has been a great choice for our family. Our children were there for nine years transferring in from a public elementary school. One of the biggest blessings of FWC was the dual-credit offerings in high school. Both of our children graduated with numerous college credit hours and were very prepared academically for college. The Christian environment prepared our kids for a lifetime of service.

As a student of this school, I love the teachers and staff but have to agree about the bad/seriously lacking fine arts program. This is a great school, but it is NOT balanced. It is MUCH too heavily focused on athletics and the art program is going by the wayside. What if you aren't an athelete but rather an artist- what then? Very sad, because my friend at another christian school nearby tells me of LOTS of things they are doing/offering that we at FWC don't get. My parents are having to work extra to keep me here, but unless something seriously improves with the fine arts program, we will be switching to another school.

I have been a parent at FWC for 14 years. My oldest son graduated 2 years ago and now I have another one in FWC. The school has been a blessing to our kids and this family. The teachers care about all the students. The high school principal is very well respected by the students and his leadership is outstanding.

As a sophomore who has attended FWC since pre-k, I can honestly say there has been some favoritism issues since the beginning. The school claims to simply be a Christian school, but the behavior of the children suggests otherwise. I've been struggling with bullies for the longest time and the faculty does nothing about it. In fact, those students who make fun of me are the ones recognized as being the most "Christ-like." Since when was bullying Christ-like? Many of the students all attend the same church and those are the favorites of the stadd. If you are not affiliated with the Church of Christ, you will be treated as a second class citizen. It's been that way the last twelve years. The school is only centered around athletics so if you are not an athlete, you will be treated as nothing to the school. The fine arts program is lousy and nobody takes it seriously. It's only athletics that's valued. For anyone looking to come to FWC, I do not recommend it because the students there will pick on you for your individuality. If your an athlete who likes making fun of others, being like everyone else, and not care about academics, then FWC is the place for you.

I have two children who currently attend Ft. Worth Christian High School. One has been at FWC since middle school and the other recently started high school at FWC. The principal is a model administrator. He knows each student by name and his rapport with students is amazing. The teachers care deeply for the students and want to see them succeed. Almost all of the coaching staff shows a deep care for the student athletes. However, with recent athletic success, it seems more focus on winning and less priority as to what is in students' best interest has become evident. A Christian education is strong focus at this school. As a parent, I would encourage those looking at placing their child at this school to investigate the religious beliefs to be sure that they will be a good "fit" for your child/family. If so, then Ft. Worth Christian can make an incredible difference in your child's educational experience!

This is a great place to be. There is such a family feeling and the teachers are excellent. My three children have been nurtured, educated, and disciplined fairly. They have Bible classes daily and they have a devotional time or "chapel" every day in their building with all the other students. They also have the opportunity to go on wonderful class trips and they have several choices of mission trips in the high school. I have had two of children graduate with several college hours too. My husband and I just love it!

A great warm, welcoming staff but beware of the "nickle and diming". At first glance you'll think their tuition prices are considerably less, but once you do the math on all the added fees you'll find otherwise. Also, they have been around since the 50's, they are a christian school - where is the CHAPEL?! Considering the new families pay a $1500 "campus enhancement" fee this should have been a priority a LONG time ago! Great school, but no excuse for this!

This is the second year for my two sons, one an 'HONORS' middle school and one a freshman in the high school. I would rate FWC above the area schools. The academics are above average and the administration, staff and faculty seem dedicated to the students. I am disappointed at the miniscule level of diversity among the faculty and student body. Otherwise, a generally positive experience for my sons and I would recommend FWC with a caveat.

As a current attending student at fwc, i can honestly say that i LOVE this school. I came last year as an 8th grader and at first i didn't like it because i was not willing to adapt, but now that i'm used to it, it's the best thing that has ever happened to me! All of my teachers are awesome (with the exception of one) and totally devoted to their jobs. The atheletics are awesome and the amount of fans that support our school at sporting events is great!
