This school is all about the children. They treat each child as an individual not a number. The values that the director and teachers teach the students is like no other. You will not find this type of care and love for children in any other chain facility. If you are looking for a school (not daycare) that teaches your child respect, morals, family values, with strong a Christian foundation then Friendswood Childrens house is where you should go. This is not a daycare just trying to collect a check, they truly know each family and love every child that goes to their school. I have tried other facilities and never got the attention and professionalism that the staff here gives. I love the attention to detail the Director gives to each individual child. It is very difficult to read some of the other reviews that obviously have an agenda. I have had my children at FCH for the past 6 years and love the way it is ran. The numbers are watched closely in each class to ensure the teacher can spend the appropriate amount of time with every child. A couple years ago I overheard a mom in the parking lot bad mouthing the director about how the school was managed and when payment was due for the month. At the end of the day it is a private school. No one is forcing you to bring your child there. Obviously there was no concern about the education or care of your child during aftercare or you would have removed them from the school immediately. It is not the responsibility of a private school to foot the bill because you don't have the funds so in return you bash them. I don't agree with this. FCH has wonderful teachers that receive ample training and have always been fair. At the end of the day it is a business not a public school, if you don't like the way it is ran with great leadership, honesty, and integrity then hire an in home nanny and let's see the type of education your child receives. My family has always been involved in the updates and progress of our children every nine weeks. This is a school that keeps the family involved and updated if you are looking for a "drop off" while you go get your hair done or nails painted then this is not the place for you, look in the classifieds for hourly help. I can not say enough positive things about this place!! Love them

As a parent that can say we have been on both ends of the table I am proud to say FCH always did the right thing to put an end to it. I really appreciate how they enforced our request for punishment to make sure this did not happen again.

Supports LD students: Strongly agree

Have a child that needed a different type of learning environment we are more than please with FCH. They have always accommodated all children and love watching them grow and learn at their own pace.

Effective school leaders: Strongly agree

Not only is leadership effective it is taught to every child. It starts with the director and trickles down to every teacher and staff member. If you have ever attended a function at the school you know exactly what I am talks about. The staff is consistent, loving, and always teaching the kids Christian values.

Develops character: Strongly agree

This is why we have had our children attend FCH for the past 6 years. They are Christian based and always put the child first.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

The teacher at FCH are super effective. The director is not one that sits in an office all day, she too teaches a class and monitors her teachers. They are very proactive and meet with parents every 9 week period on progress or lack of. Parents are always welcomed to asked questions or share any concerns at any time.

Amount of homework: Strongly agree

FCH has a very responsible approach to homework. As a teach myself I know the importance of teaching children the value of continuing their education outside of the classroom. Parenting does come into play once children leave the school, help your child at home also teaches them the importance of education.

This is a school NOT a day care! I send my children to Friendswood Children's House to get an outstanding academic foundation not for a babysitter! I am a working mom so my children do have to attend before and after care as well but the quality of professionals is consistent throughout. The director is amazing. Her dedication to the children and the school building can be seen through her longstanding history in the community. She is constantly making improvements to the school building itself i.e. new carpet and flooring, fresh paint, updated security, lighting, playground equipment, curriculum, supplies. Parent / Teacher communication at FCH is top notch! I like to hear about my child's day from the teacher's perspective. Both the good and the bad. I literally get an update on my child's progress every single day!
