I attened school here from 2000-2004. Overall, its ok, could be better, could be worse, especially here in East Texas. Pretty much its a somewhat typical blue collar middle class small town high school with a sprinkle of rich and well to do kids, mostly grown up in the town their whole lives. Football is VERY big here as is Baseball and Track. The faculty overall is above average, the hardes challenge is the huge gap between most kids, which are pretty well off financially and the not so well off kids who make up about 12-15 percent of the high school. They tend to come from rough families, have little regard for rules or academics and school spirit. The big problem is that many teachers right off students they do not think are college material and only focus their efforts on kids who are going to college, which are most, but many get left behind. If you are a new kid, your only chance of being popular is if you are 1. Rich or well off financially, 2. Athletically talented, 3. Good looking guy or girl, 4. Or just fit in with anyone. I had an overall good experience, it wasnt perfect, but what experience is? overall an above average school for East Texas.
