It's amazing how love, commitment, dedication and a can do attitude come together and offer a quality education in a non-profit school. SER-Ni os Charter School, with 2 elementary schools and a middle school, is the only dual-language school in Houston. It offers high quality instruction, enrichment activities and family support to help students excel academically, socially and emotionally for success in high school and life. SER-Ni os students must perform on grade level in all subject areas as measured by a standardized achievement test before graduation to the next grade. All eight-grade students must complete a research project and make a presentation to the graduation committee. Must demonstrate oral and academic proficiency in English and Spanish. Also required to complete 10 hours of community service upon the year of their graduation. I love that although SER-Ni os is located in a low-income area, the education offered is paramount, equal to any private school in Houston. The only improvement SER-Ni os could use would be financial assistance to help the students and parents even more.
