I my daughter went to this school for Pre K in her teacher was really nice she loves her and she learn a lot!!! my only problem was the people from the office every time that I'll go and get her out for whatever reason they were always rude or make me wait till there conversation was finish..... I went few times and never did they said good morning or how may I help you...I think they really need to work with those people and show them to be more polite or nice. :) :)

My son has been at this school since Pre-K and is now in the second grade. His teachers have all been very helpful for structure and guidence. He does very well in his studies but most of all they lack on physical education activities. They normaly go out to play for 20 minuets and that not enough to burn any calories. Orther than that everyone is very friendly and happy to see how they are all helpful in the school.

Great School,Excellent Teachers,My Grandaughters Love that School And Their Teachers,,,,,,I Had trouble with my oldest grandaughter and homework,Her Teacher found a clever IDEA,Now She does her homework before anything else,,,, NEVER "forgets" Can't say Enough!!,Drama Club!! Music!!" 'Great Friends " Thank you SOUTHMAYD!! She just passed to the Fifth Grade,,,,My other Grandaughter is in Gifted n Talented!!(and SHE is!!)Everyone there is usually very busy but NEVER too busy to talk to you,

I'm a parent of 2 boys My 14 year old attended K- 5 , he had commend and phs scores in math and science while attending southmayd. I loved this school because it is small and the staff makes you ( parents) fill like family. Now my 3rd grade son is also doing very well. When he was in second grade on his reading test he rated a forth grade reading level. the only thing I wish they would bring back is thier basketball team, they really need more sports for the boys . Also would be nice to have after school activities. Being in this area I belive that these children need more activities . The teachers are great. HISD need to keep our children interested in school as much as possiable. All work and no play ... kids lose intress very quick.

This very good school and there are great teachers there at the school. I'm very impress with how they teach the students and they are there to help them with anything.
