Kids aren't a top priority here. Almost everyone I encountered didn't care about my conerns or my childrens. There are too many bullying issues that go unresolved and the staff is just careless. A 1 star rating is too high for this school. My child transferred to Eagle Springs and the staff has been fantastic, friendly, and helpful.

To much time off !!!!!!!! The school has to many early out....our children are to be taught instead we are paying to get teachers taught instead of our kids. Something wrong here. School taxes are to high..... is this because we are paying to get our teachers taught? This is totally wrong....... If they have to be taught do it after school on your time not the childrens !!!!!!

Humble school district is absolutely aweful. My child has a constant bullying problem. Instead of having issues resolved immediately before school (parents are not allowed in school to walk their child to class or talk to their childs teachers before the bell rings), you have to leave a message with the teacher and wait for them to contact you when it is convenient for them, meanwhile your child needs immediate attention. I was a few days late paying for my adaughters lunch fees so she was not allowed to eat the lunch everyone else did, she was given a sandwich instead and was crying during lunch. Worst school district ever. Best to avoid Humble isd if you dislike bureaucracy and prison like schools.

My children who had no significant trouble with learning did well. My child, who needed extra help but passed the all powerful TAKS practice test because of the all year drilling, did not. He was on a waiting list for reading tutoring all year but never got it. When he passed the TAKS practice test for math, he was immediately removed from tutoring. I was told they didn t have room him because there were only a couple of teachers who tutored and the kids who failed it took priority. He immediately took a nosedive and failed the last 9 weeks in math and could not read on his grade level. I am retaining him despite him 'passing' and transferring him to a school that believes all children should get help when they need it, not just when they may negatively affect the funding of the school or its ranking.

I am pretty pleased with the help my son is getting at Oak Forest Elementary. He seems to have a learning disability but with the help of Councelors, teachers and the Principal, we have been able to help him along. They have been able to supply him the help he needs. The only thing I'm worried about is the student/teacher ratio. I think they need to work on it. There are too many students in that school and I just found out they are bringing in trailers because of the growth of the school. I'm afraid students will just be numbers and they won't be able to get the attention they need.
