As a parent, I am very disappointed with the teacher quality at this school. I would estimate that 75% of the teachers spend class time talking about topics unrelated to the subject matter, are not capable of explaining the topics in depth, or unfairly favor certain student demographics over others. My son attended elementary and intermediate school in the same school district and the teachers there were much better than the teachers at this high school.

Yes, the Fine Arts Program is the best around. At least the choir. The Clear Creek High School Symphonic Choir has been invited to sing for TMEA convention 4 times and the ACDA National Convention 3 times (both HUGE deals). Their Chamber ensemble has taken first place for the past 3 times they have competed in the American Classic Madrigal and Chamber Choir Festival. They also hold the record for the most TMEA All-Staters from one school in the entire state, 13. The Clear Creek Choir program holds up a standard of excellence like no other.

Outstanding school. VERY diverse student body, teachers and staff. Dedicated and involved teachers and staff, if the student wants them involved. If you WANT to succeed, you are given EVERY opportunity. My son (Class of 2009) was in the Fine Arts school, and currently enjoys a 90% College scholarship because of it. Anyone saying the Fine Arts is lacking is GREATLY mislead. Current son is an athlete and enrolled in the Engineering school. He is doing wonderful. His mother and I have always been involved in school and activities. We always meet with the teachers at the Open House, and stay in contact with them throughout the year. Anyone with negative comments most likely are not involved, do not know the facility and staff, and most likely hear the bad comments from their student who blame everyone else for their bad grades, etc. Terrible parent involvement. I guess children are not that important to some people. Perfect example was the parent that blamed all the other parents for not taking her child to band camp!!!

If not for the current principal, CCHS could be a a quality school and offer a quality education, but the principal makes sure that does not happen. It is racially and economically VERY diverse (I don't have a clue where the parent got the idea the teachers don't know how to deal with people of color unless her child was not given special privileges). I had no problems with anyone at the school except the principal.

I guess my biggest concern with the school is that there are not more people of color that students can emulate and glean from. It is also disappointing that with the huge melting pot in League City, many of the older teachers have not become accustomed to teaching and relating to young people of color. I was also very disappointed with the poor way that some teachers interact with students. I hope that the administrators take a good look at their staff and decide whether the teachers have the best interest of all students at heart. A sign that your school is truly Exemplary is if the needs of all students are met and if they feel like a part of the culture of the school.

I don't understand why the person a few people down said that this school has a terrible fine arts department. As far as I know, Clear Creek High School holds the record for the most TMEA All-State Choir members from one school - thirteen. Each year their choir program soars above the rest, filling up most of the spots in all of the choirs at every audition. Also, the choir has been nationally recognized as one of the top high school choirs in the nation as they sang at the ACDA National Convention last year on Saturday (a very prestigious honor) whereas other university choirs sang on Wednesday and so forth (days which arent as highly honored). The choir program has also given the opportunity for students to receive numerous scholarships to their dream school. Whoever that person was is completely ignorant of the caliber of this school's fine arts program.

You people kill me...I have just read all your reviews and feel truly sorry for your children.. Imagine, having to figure out their schoolwork on their own, and walk from building to building for classes...Grow up and let them do the same. I am an alumni of Creek and I was expected to come to classes on time (which can be difficult I admit if you hang in the halls talking to friends between class.) and I also had to go not only from one building to the next for classes, but sometime (The horror!!) two whole buildings away!!!! Get a grip people. The teachers are there for that reason to teach. Not to raise your children or give them a passing grade they don't deserve. The 'No child left behind conspiracy' has almost crippled our education system, and what it hasn't destroyed, whiny parents are....

This school receives too much money for having its employees sit around and gossip.

I went to this school , and I have been extremely unhappy with the way they treat students, like they are complete imbeciles who should just pass the TAKS test and get out. In the four years, I did not find anyone who could explain to me the AP classes I should start taking in ninth grade so I could get into an Ivy League or very well respected university, which is what I always wanted . The counselors are really bad, they only help kids who either a) go to their church b) play sports(and likely do drugs) c) are cheerleaders or anything of the like d)are failing at everything. This school is not at all concerned with students who wish to advance and become very successful in life. It does not deserve all the money it gets, and you should not send your students there.+ Fine arts program terrible!
