This is a good school with active parents and teachers who really seem to put in the extra effort. It's with great relief that my child with minor special needs has found a place to be encouraged, be motivated and be given needed confidence.
This school is great! My two daughters are fortunate to have such a great place to begin their education. The teachers and staff are focused on getting kids to perform to their maximum potential.
My 2 kids love school! We have had a wonderful experience at Pleasant Hill. I've been very impressed with the leadership and level of caring from the teachers. They go above and beyond! There is also a great number of volunteers at this school and I think that really helps to support the staff and let staff know parents care.
I think we lucked into this school when we moved here. At the time we moved to Leander we didn't have kids in school, and now we have three! PHE has devoted staff. I've heard other parents at other schools complain about poor communication and lack of parent support. That is NOT the case at PHE. They seem to really have their act together and have parents in their corner.
We just moved to the school district and my son is in first grade. This school has been very great for him. Very structured and organized, no complaints so far what so ever. He has learned a lot and every day the staff is smiling and waving to everyone that they pass. The staff even works the school crossings which I think is great for safety of the kids. So far we have been happy and we are almost at the end of our first year with no complaints. They comunicate great with the parent/teacher binder. RIght now their homework is on a sheet in the binder they do it for a month then swap out so it goes with what they are currently working on in school. Wednesday folders are great I love they bring all that stuff home once a week instead of daily, but thats just my opinion.
We've been a part of the PHE family since the school opened and we love it. My daughter really enjoys school, she is part of an excellerated math program and last year she participated in the QUEST program. She's had a great relationship with all of her teachers and so have I.
We transferred over in 2008 and we have been pleased with our experience so far. The teachers and staff really care about the children and their level of success. They're quick to respond to parental involvement, and encourage us to stay connected. I was concerned about how crowded the school seemed to be but our kiddos are pretty happy there! We're looking forward to another great year!
I have been very disappointed in this school. I never see anyone smiling; not the teachers at any rate. Too much regimentation, and not enough creativity. The music, art, and theater arts classes are a joke. My child came home with two ceramic discs from art during two entire years. During theater arts they were told to sit still and be quiet. Music? unless you are in the third grade there isn't much music.
My son is a student in this school and overall the teachers are good but it is a little too crowded for a new school. The whole fifth grade is housed outside in portables and the school just opened last year.
My daugher is learning a lot however I never see her come home with any school work. I also don't get daily homework assignment even though I asked for it. If they do get homework a whole week is quickly noted on one piece of paper.
