I'm the parent of a special education student which attends Creekside Elementary and I am very pleased with the school in regards to how my child is educated and unique needs met. We have an excellent line of communication via face-to-face during school pick-up, as well as via email her kindergarten teacher, specials teachers, and speech therapist. Just this week we requested an impromptu meeting with her speech teacher to get information on the program my child is in and techniques they are using. I was especially impressed with how the therapist was also acting as a 'social-skills' coach for my daughter in addition to her speech program. The educators are very accessible, and I feel like they are our partners in educating my child. I'm especially impressed with her kindergarten teacher, who a great professional background, patience and understanding for effectively teaching and 'managing' a kindergarten class with inclusion students.

My kids go to this school and I find all the teachers that I have come in contact with very perfessional and caring. I get outraged when I read negative statements in a forum like this. The person usually doesn't tell the whole story...The communication at Creekside is very good, no it's not perfect but it never is at any school. Resently there was concern from another parent about bullying, there will always be some sort of this on every grade level. But to demand that a zero talerance be implimented is unacceptable. Not Kindergarten thru 2nd. These kids (Kindergarten) are just learning to communicate and get use to having to share, sit in their seats and being away from 'mom'. Classes were planned for bullying, LISD came to inform, help with it, mostly teachers and a few parents showed. Was there really one? Where were all these parents? Makes

My daughter goes to this school. There is a huge lack of communication with the parents and teachers. There is none. The front office is unfriendly and unhelpful. This school needs to be tuned upside down and shaken a few times before they try to move forward. There is not much involvement with other parents and they need to step up their security measures, policy and procedures.

I am very impressed with the policies of the school to encourage physical activities as early as Kindergarten (P.E. and other related classes) every week, as well as the 'no junk food' policy. My daughter's class is small compared to other schools and I truly believe this helps the teachers as well as the students to learn more willingly within a smaller group. I am also fond of the younger, more energetic teachers for Kindergartners. They tend to have the same energy and more tolerable of their active selves. I believe attitude truly counts in both the teachers as well as the children. So thank you for everything & kudos to Ms. Sellers - my daughter enjoys her very much.

I have been disappointed in the communication between teachers and parents at Creekside Elementary school. Often I feel that I haven't been given the 'full picture' and the proper efforts to convey teacher's expectations, etc... have not been made. I am also disappointed that Creekside is not equipped to house their own children whose parents opt for D1 for their children. And, I have been disappointed in what I am finding out about their special education department. I was also disappointed when the Spanish classes were taken out of the curriculum; the time to teach our children another language is when they are very young. On a brighter note, I have been very happy to see my children responding so well to their Drama classes!

The school was very nice. It's got a lot of spirit and is proud of it's students. The academic programs were adequate. The music and art programs could be better. Not too much parent involvement which is a little disappointing. Overall though, we did have a good experience at the school. The teacher our son had was just awesome and I would recommend this elementary school for people in the Lewisville area. Our son also attended Rockbrook and even though that is a newer school, I prefer Creekside.
