the school is okay but the favoritism is a big yes there. the teachers are unfair they are nice to only the ones who go to the church. there is no extra credit for those who need help. they don't care about your feelings. it is like they want to break you down. the teachers don't care if you pass or not. it is a horrible school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most of the elementary teachers are excellent and have been teaching for many years. In junior and senior high, teachers are hit or miss...they really need to focus on keeping the great teachers when they get them. There is a high turn over rate for middle and high school teachers. Also, the grading structure needs improvement. It's frustrating to have one test (exam) each quarter count for 33% of a child's overall grade. They can do great all quarter and then have their average drop significantly all based on one test.
TCA has MANY problems First of all EVERYTHING is abeka and no not just all the books Every day the teachers follow the abeka lesson plans to get through the entire book in one year which is not really necessary Even though the school passes the required minimum days of school required by law if we miss a day due to weather, we have to make it up to keep up with the abeka schedule Also we have to have quizzes and tests on mondays and thursdays and homework on wednesday nights. I have heard teachers say that they dont like doing this but they have to because thats what abeka says Abeka books are ineffective for the most part math and science are the worst The teachers are all way too inexperienced. the majority of them went to PCC and some didnt even major in what they are teaching, or any education for that matter In most classes all we do is read out of the books while the teachers repeat what we just read The grading system is frustrating Homework counts little to nothing the 2 tests per quarter count 33% countless quizzez count 33% and the exam is 33% it is punishing and impossible to bring a grade up if you do bad on a test since they are averaged by category
So far, I have been very happy with this school. The class sizes are small and the academics are challenging, but teachers will help your student if they struggle. The most important thing is that the main focus is Jesus Christ and bringing Him glory in all areas of life.
I removed my kids from this school after a number of years. The teachers are overloaded, the leadership is inadequate and I agree with other parents, that if your family does not go to the church, the kids are not favored like the ones who do. My kids had a mostly positive experience there, but I was not happy with it. They are in public schools now.
lol i tink dis skool iz gret. It haz tot me alowt of stuf abowt scaence an engrish and typing to. If u wan a god edjuculation ten go here!
I took my kids out. The bullies were out of control and if your child isn't part of their church or related to a staff member, you can forget about getting any attention to this issue or any other. The favoritism shown towards "the IN kids" shows up everywhere....sports teams, winning contests, you name it. The elementary teachers were great. Not too many are great in the upper grades. One of the math teachers lowers the grade because the paper isn't folded right and that was the first week of school! A big blow to a straight A student. That's not a "teacher" thats a drill instructor.
I went to school here from the ages of 3 - 18. This school molded me into the person I am today, I am grateful for the school and the staff. I learned a lot and made some great friends. The staff was great , it is a small school with an easier learning environment for students and if you dont want your children to be taught evolution and be involved in sex and drugs then this is the place for your child. My whole family including mother, aunts, uncles and cousins went here. Its been around a long time!
Teachers work extremely hard to creat e a nurturing learning environment and the principal is a great leader! I am not a member of their church and it has taken me some time to get to know everyone = they are super nice!
Elementary grades have been great, but junior high has many issues. If your child struggles, it is too bad. The teachers keep moving no matter if your child gets it or not. Junior high is a huge adjustment and if they fall behind, their grades begin to drop and it can be a very negative experience for your child. My child will not be going back in the fall.
The children of certain staff members are shown a lot of favoritism and get away with stuff that others would never be able to
TCA is a wonderful school for my children! They have a qualified and caring staff who consistently go the second mile. I wholeheartedly endorse Temple Christian. May the Lord continue to bless this great school!
Its better for your child if you attend the church. Also, the principal seems to change every year. To many quizzes for children under the age of 13. The school seems to lack fairness especially to be 'Christ' centered.
i enjoyed this school my first year and then the next 2 were miserable..i dont recomend this school because their staff is below satisfacctorie and the teachers cant teachas well as public school teachers..im currently going to clayton downing middle school in fm and the i started i could tel that tca was cake compared to the public school system, especialy the spanish course.
My children have attended Temple Christian Academy for 6 years. Temple Christian has outstanding academics and an outstanding Christian emphasis. I strongly recommend TCA!
The school is lacking in qualified staff. The curriculum is out of date and the middle school and high school classes are lacking in discipline and focus. Some teachers are not teacher certified and there has been a revolving door for principals in the past few years. Very disappointing for a private and Christian school experience.
They need to focus on what's really important and let some of the little things like clothing style go.
I have been at the school for multiple years and this year I too, was disappointed in the admisitration and teachers. I am removing my children from this school.
I was very disappointed in the administration and teachers. I have removed my children from this school.
