We have a second grader and are very happy with the school. She is in the LEAP (T&G) program and sometimes can be socially anxious, but the teachers have really been phenomenal. Don't get me wrong, the PTA meetings are terrible, but it's not the school that makes them terrible, it's the parents. It would be hard for any school to try to "fix" rude and nasty adults.

We moved from Birdville ISD to Lewisville and are so happy with the move. We have two children at Southridge and they are both excelling both academically and emotionally. Our son's special needs are being addressed proactively and we couldn't be happier with the personalized care and attention he receives. We are very happy with the amount of timely and thorough communication we receive from the school, and the teachers and staff have been wonderful. The only reason I didn't give Southridge 5 stars is the lack of "extras" (field trips, a more robust PTA program, etc.). But academically and socially, it has been wonderful for my children.

Outward appearances make the school look better than it is, being a recognized campus means a lot to the staff. The schools is over crowded. There are unrealistic expectations of the younger grades. the Assistant Principal and Counselor are wonderful, hence why a lower rating was not given. The Principal is difficult to talk with and forgets that she is not the ultimate boss of how the children are treated, that is the parents job to make the more important decisions. Many of the teachers have lost heir sense of humor and do not appreciate a sense of humor in a young child. We as a family have had a rotten year much of it to do with the policies in place at this school. We are moving to a different school district & would live in our car to get out of South ridge.

As a teacher at Southridge I enjoy working with such a talented faculty and staff. I am very discouraged with the parents of the students I teach. They are not involved in the school or with their children's education. They often don't even show up for teacher conferences. I do enjoy the students and despite their parents, they are teachable. It's the very talented faculty and staff that make Southridge an exemplary school!

We have two children in this school and like a lot of schools, I think your experience varies depending on the teacher. We've had 2 excellent teachers, 2 horrible teachers, and 1 that was okay, but not great. Both my children have great teachers this year, so we're lucky. PTA is poor given what appears to be a lack of parent involvement and no budget (i.e., lack of parents). The counselor is awesome, but we have mixed feelings about the principal. My wife and I put our house up for sale last year specifically to move to a different school, but took it off due to the market. We are putting it back on the market in the spring and hope to be moved by the summer. We would not recommend this school.

The teachers & staff are great, my children enjoy this school and all it offers. I love the effort and time they take to help those that need that extra push and the results have been proven to go above and beyond any other school district that we have attended.

My child attends southridge and the children that are not succeding are not given my attention as needed. The ones that are making the honor roll, of course their parents will have nice comments because they dont interact academically with the teachers as we do, the ones who have the children who are struggling. I feel that if you helped a child all the way to the 3rd weeks then let them go and then rapidly see a drop in grades that should have been the first point of contact with the parents of the student instead of the 5th weeks. I am a parent that is very involved academicaly and discipline wise and I would have liked to be notified sooner. I think that the teacher is genuinly nice, but isnt equipped to deal with those that are struggling with the academics.

There are some fantastic teachers here for example the 4th grade teacher- Mrs. Hayes she's great. Other than that there are no extra act. the PTA is terrible the atmosphere is terrible and the kids are known to curse and get into fights. :| It's a shame.

from my experience, their kindergarten classes are two over crowded, and the teachers do not have enough experience with young children.
