Having previously attended a Montessori school out of the area, we anticipated an open, modern approach to continue educating our son and have not been disappointed with the H1 campus. Management and educators are supportive of students and work in tandem with engaged parents. Our son is happy, receives greater teacher to student ratio attention, and is developing life/social skills lacking in typical public school settings.

Both my children attend Horizon in McAllen. And I have to say my husband and I are very pleased with the level of education and practical experience they are recieving at the school. My daughter started attending there only one year after its doors opened, and I do have to admit there were some issues that needed to be worked out, but I would have expected that in any school that was that new. We choose to stay and help the school become a success, and it has paid off. My daugher is well above the academic level of other children in the same grade that attend our local public school, and she is happy. My son just started K, and I excpect we will have the same positive experience with him.

Very disappointed with this school. Academically, it needs to focus more of the child's need for improvement instead of the little things. Never will I consider a Horizon Montessori school for my child. Really, a disgrace to educational institutes around south TX.

i can't tell you how disapointed i was with this school!!! i took my child out of their kinder class mid year. my shild would come home with anywhere from 5 to 15 paper airplanes in his backpack when i questioned him on why he just told me how bored he was in class. that the only thing they would do was watch movies and play. now that i have taken him out and moved him not only does he seem happier but know he is learning. when he got to his new school he could not even read (though he could after leaving pre-k) at the new school they even questioned what he had learned because, he was so far behind the rest of the class. i'm soooo happy that i moved him!!!!!

I have been very pleased with the education my children are receiving. I also feel the school is very open to parents that want to contribute in making the school fantastic. Students also have a wonderful array of after-school activities ( guitar, piano, dance, basketball, Spanish) to choose from.

I can't believe what this parent (on Nov 12, 2005) says about Horizon Montessori being the 'worst' school! My daughter attends the new HMIII in Harlingen. It is by far the 'best' thing that has happened to us. I have already had two daughters (older) go through the local school district and there is no comparison! HMIII provides one on one to my very shy child who would not speak out loud no matter what we told her. She will be in her first play this Thanksgiving! God has blessed us with this school and I pray that it grows more each year so that she may be able to attend all her elementary years at HMIII.

I learned about HMII from my son's public school teacher and was advised that it would probably benifit him to attend. I strongly believe that she was right. My 2 sons suffer from ADHD among other health issues as well but have overcome all this @ HMII. I am very proud of my children but am also proud of the staff which work very closely with both students and parents and are always willing to make an extra effort for the students success. I highly reccomend HMII to anyone who really cares about their childs education!

Horizon11 is a wonderful school. The teachers are great the principal more than excellent. This school is a blessing send from God. I really thank God for this school and pray that He pours his abundant blessings over it. Seeing my child learn and to see him overcome his struggles thru the love and direction of his caring teachers fills my heart with joy. This is a small school but with a great heart for learning and making a difference in the life of a child. To the founder of Horizon11 all I can say is thank you.

I love that this school is small and it targets my childs needs. It feels like a family when we walk in there. The teachers are wonderful and very knowledgable and seem very intrested in what my child need. I like that afterschool is available to parents for only five dollars an afternoon. Can't beat that!

Horizon Montessori II has been a real blessing to our son, he had so much trouble adjusting to regular public school. The personal attention he receives from his teachers and the principal at Horizon Montessori II have made him enjoy his time at school and we can see he is truly learn!
