North is an outstanding school with the best teachers! Smaller classes and caring teachers make it a great campus. Great opportunities for students despite the district not always providing equally due to its smaller size. Wouldn't want my kids at any other high school in McKinney!

This is a great school. I have been going to McKinney North for 2 years, and have loved every one of my teachers so far. The extracurricular activities are great, including our 2-year-old orchestra. Seniors are recognized in several places and I have known them to receive many scholarships. People might complain about the teachers and the teaching quality, but we are extremely academically competitive and if someone isn't making good grades, I think it would be their own fault, not the staff's.

Apparently academics are not the primary concern at this school. I am shocked at the elitism that has been reported by national news regarding the cheerleaders at this school. This school needs to help students prepare for their future. I don't know of many professions that place a value on what you were in high school. Wouldn't it be nice to have this school recognized in the national news for academic accomplishments?

MNHS is a great school within a great neighborhood community but, parents need to be more involved in the PTA and the school administration more transparent with issues challenging the school's success. The recent flaw in discipline should not have occurred and should not be allowed to happen again. Disciplined children perform excellently in all learning fields. This rare occurrence should be a learning experience for all, administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students and of course the community at large. if we allow indiscipline it will come back to us in the neighborhood. Teachers keep doing what you are doing you are doing a swell job!

My daughter has been going to North since August of 2005 and we have been pleased with the academics. She is a straight a student and is a swimmer. The sporting events have been fun to watch and very competetive. I think it is one of the better schools in the McKinney area!

McKinney North High school strives to provide the academic challenges that students need balanced with effective teaching. The staff at North have demonstrated their love for the children and their dedication to their profession. There have been trying times for the students and the staff but they all pull through with a stronger sense of community. The weakest issue at North would be the handling of some disciplinary issues which I have witnessed some change this year. My children were educated and valued while students at North and I would recommend this school to others.

This school is over all a pretty decent school though it is definetly one that is pretty catagorized not by poeple, but by social classes those people belong to. Besides the actual student body the school is pretty good academically.

This is by far the worst quality education provided by any school my children have been involved in. It has very low standards for staffing, including teachers and substitute teachers who are sometimes placed on long term assignments with no qualifications at all. There is huge emphasis placed on dress code rules as well as completely arbitrary regulations for tardiness and such, however there should be this much effort placed on education at McKinney North. My child's education is definitely below par, compared to the schools we are used to out of state where we come from . Had I known how terrible this school is, I would have never moved into this area. To be fair, it has a great Theater dept which puts great effort in proper training and quality performances. Unfortunately, this will not be enough to assure a place for my child in a quality university.

Princepal is retiring and alot of new staff coming in for 2004-2005. Staff treats students alittle to much on the childish side. But it keeps everyone safe and intact.
