My oldest now in 4th grade, had severe speech problems as well as associating with other children, and could not read or write at the his kinder level at that time. Within two weeks,of attending Shimotsu, he transformed into a new little boy; he was able to speak , write, read and be sociable. His self steam was lifted so much that he is no longer shy and has been able to make many friends. There is no doubt that ALL staff starting with the principal contribute to give my child and our family this wonderful gift. They are so involved and dedicated to the well-being of all the children that makes me a proud parent to know that my children have the opportunity to attend this school. They have "zero" tolerance for bullying and will address any problem immediately. They promote self steem and good manners and great afterschool program for those students that need the extra help. I have never seen a principal to be the first one at the school grounds receiving his students with a high five every morning wether is cold, raining or hot; Mr. L is the nicest coolest principal. WONDERFUL SCHOOL I LOVE IT !!!!

Shimotsu is a great elementary school, with very involved Staff, Principal, and Parents! We moved year a yr ago from Tennessee and my daughter has made the adjustment well, is excelling in school, and is involved in the many extra-curricular activities the school offers--to which I am very grateful to the Faculty and Staff for doing!

We moved to Texas from Michigan in 10-06. Our children have excelled in their academics and have been involved in the many extracurricular activities while attending this school. UIL is a great Texas program not always available at the elementary level so I am grateful my kids participated in it. The school day is longer and the kids get daily physical education class--Wonderful! I agree that the principal, Mr. Limon is genuine in his concern for the children. He is also highly visible and available to students and parents. The teachers we have had are hard working and motivated. Our family will miss this school when we relocate out of state due to my spouses job.

We recently moved here and were very impressed by the principals ideas and genuine concern for the children. The school just opened, but everything flowed smoothly. They have great opportunities in the UIL program for children of all ages. I would recommend this school.
