This school district has always been viewed as one of the best in our area. The academic bar has been high and the school scores well. The campus is also very safe. The bad news is that the administrative and teaching environment can be very hard on the kids. Students typically have 5+ hours of homework almost every night, including weekends and mid-year breaks. Even with the parents help, it is difficult to keep up. Our child went from A/B to barely passing. Their self-esteem detiorated. We moved our child to another school. Grades and self-esteem did a complete 180. There's more to education than what's on the TAKS test.
Superintendant has ruined the school! A once awesome school is now pitiful!
Chapel Hill ISD has been a good school for my youngest child. THe Elementary school was good in preparing him for TAKs, and I feel he learned alot, however, the junior high has not been a good exp. as the teachers were not qualified and able to help him with classes that he had difficulty in. We are hoping for a more positive change in High school this year with new teachers. Sports are good, basketball, volleyball, cross country and track, tennis and golf. A growing band backs these up. Parents are involved in a great capacity! Go RED DEVILS!
