Great teachers, academic program, and fun school activities like the field day and school dances.

Academic programs seem to be good. Music and art are ok, not as good as my kids' previous elementary school but acceptable. They don't provide a variety of experiences. For example, at my kids' previous school, they were able to use drums, write their own music. It was an exceptional school. The teachers are caring and parent involvement is high, although, only on a superficial level. Parents are encouraged to support the teachers but when there is a problem in the classroom, the principal always takes the side of the teachers rather than to open a dialogue. Not all teachers' methods are good for all kids. Personality conflicts are not considered in the teaching environment. The biggest gripe I have is that they do not allow the children to sit with their friends during lunch. They have strict seating guidelines. Kids need time to socialize and to let their hair down.
