Best high school in Plano. Classes really prepare students for college. Competition is high and teachers really push the students. I love this school. I only wish my son could have attended Jasper but school redistricing is sending him to Clark.

Very rigorous academics, but that's a rare blessing in a school that helps prepare students for life. Outstanding extracurricular programs, particularly the music and out of school academic activities. With a good work ethic, any student has the potential to go as high as they want from this school.

The curriculum is pretty heavy but it really prepares the student for college. Taught her how do prioritize, create great study habits. My daughter state Senior high is a breeze.

Very competitive and challenging. Will definitely prepare your kids for senior high and college. Jasper students are usually the top kids in their senior high school. There is a lot of homework, but it will teach your kids to manage their time.

This school is an OK school, but I find they push the students too much. There are only a few good teachers, such as Mr. Stanton, the Humanities teacher. The rest are more of an'I'll pass out the worksheets and you do it' type of attitude. This school has too much social differences, such as kids cheating off each other. This school was decent for me, but I feel that the standards are too high and way too many projects are given.

This school gives way too much homework every day. True, they do say that they get extremely strict only to get them ready for senior high school and college, but I get upset and exhausted every day from working on homework until a minimum hour of two. This school is not recommended for children who like to get their regular 10 hours of slep a day.

Hi, I'm a sophmore at Jasper.. and most of the reviews are somewhat wrong.. First the one about regulars kids and honor's kids having no homework. I'm in both and both classes have a lot of homework. I mean a lot. It's just because the school wants to keep up with there test scores. 2.. not all teacher's are nice and caring.. some are kinda mean. And don't care.. just wanted to clear somethings up. But it's a great school because it may be competive and stuff but it helps in the longrun.

Jasper High School is really not as great as some think. The teachers strictly follow given curriculum and do not make personal connections with the students. Most take roll, push play on the video, and relax. In our experience here, we've only found two or three really good teachers who actually care about the kids and want them to learn. On the other hand, the drill team and music programs are wonderful. The coaches are outstanding motivators. The Humanities program is great, but is not open to all. That's Jasper's main problem: if you are gifted, you get the best teachers and opportunities. If you are simply average, you will not be challenged. Also, the school is very large. It is very easy to get lost in the crowd.

I moved to the district halfway through 9th grade and I have to say it has been amazing! The teachers are extremely kind and the competition is strong which helps everyone push each other along. Compared to my old school, the academics jumped 10 levels, it was a struggle to keep up but I'm about to say something no child really says, but because of Jasper academically, I love learning and school now. I would recommend this school to anyone who is willing to try. Trying is the key to success here.

Former student here. I had just moved into the district after freshman year and Jasper was where I zoned to. Let me say, that Jasper (and Plano West) blew away the other schools I've attended in my life. The academics are amazing, the teachers actually care and aren't just there for a paycheck. It didn't take me long to get adjusted. Great school! Would recommend it for anyone.
