We moved our children to WPMA after a poor experience with administration at a previous preschool. Our elementary-aged son is gifted and has ADHD and we found it the perfect environment for him. Ms. Mehnaz worked to find the best ways to help him focus and learn to his full potential at his pace, something the Montessori style achieves much better than current public school methods. Our youngest is still a toddler but she is happy, healthy, and surprises us often with what she knows and how independent she is. The staff is clearly experienced and the whole environment is very calm. Ms. Judy at the front is a treasure. Great school with great teachers. My only wish is that they were more tech-oriented in sharing with parents, but that has improved since we started, and that they had an upper elementary so I wouldn't have to move my kids until middle school!

This school is truly amazing thanks to the wonderful and dedicated staff. The teachers actually teach the kids the love of learning and exploring. My 5 Y/O son can have a conversation about geography and books in such a mature way that leaves most people speechless. His reading and writing skills at the age of 5 are equivalent to a second grader. Today I found out that my son passed the kindergarten acceleration test to skip kindergarten and move to first grade. If you know this exam then you know it is meant to fail. My son scored 100% on this exam and I can say that it is all thanks to the teachers who devoted their time and passion to him during the 5 years he has been there. Miss Linda, Miss Anita, Miss Riffat, Miss Mehnaz and the sweet Miss Patricia have given my son skills he will cherish forever. Thank you WPMS!

My son goes to this school. Teachers are great!!! They are very loving, caring and academic oriented. Receptionist acts busy always..... as if she runs the whole place!!! Director is down to earth person.. not impressive at first but well disciplined. The main drawback of this place is lack of communications. As a working mom I prefer communications by email or texts and automated payment...Instead they have monthly news letter sent in printed paper along with a yellow payment card, manually stamped!!! For each month GO GREEN!!! One more thing.. Since the back of the school opens to a field with cycling and walking track combined with electrical transformers, school needs to upgrade the security in that area. Last but important ...No flag!! WoW!!

This school is absolutely outstanding! I do not have enough words to thank the staff for what they have done for my children. My son started at the North Dallas branch and then continued at West Plano Montessori until he went to first grade. He had some physical special needs and severe feeding issues after he was born. I was worried how the school would handle his needs but he was just thriving under their care! He was reading fluently at the age of three. His physical and feeding issues resolved fully when he was five. When he was six years old, he was a well adjusted, happy boy whose academics were at least at the level of a third grader. He was recently tested in public school and found to be a math genius! He is now attending the gifted and talented program - like many other graduates of West Plano Montessori. I cannot thank his teachers enough who were dedicated to him over the years and allowed his potential to fully unfold. He would not be where he is today had it not been for West Plano Montessori. My daughter is still at school there. She is 3.5. years old, smart as a whip and is starting to read words. She is very happy and loves to go to school every day.

My child went here from age 2 to 5 if you are looking for some academic activity, discipline and a loving atmosphere for your child this is the school for you they have been in the business for 30 Years and the experience shows! .children were quiet and busy with their work. She joined in the toddler class they do potty training there as well . Ms Linda and ms Nisha were excellent with my daughter .ms Linda is amazing with all the kids in the after school session as well . My daughter moved to the primary class at 3 .Ms Mersedeh, is a great teacher so loving to the children but gets work done my child really progressed academically -started reading by age 4 . Ms Kerry is also a good teacher firm and the kids love her too. The director runs a tight ship and always shares her experience " respect others and respect yourself" is what she tells the kids. Ms judy the receptionist is so nice and helpful. The only drawback I faced was the lack of email communication everything is paper based in the kids bag. I hope they will remedy that soon! The building is a bit old and dark don't l let that affect you the atmosphere inside is fun, loving & disciplined

I can not say enough positive things about West Plano Montessori school. I have 3 children and my first two children went to different preschools in the area. My third child attended West Plano Mostessori starting at age 3 and will now be attending kindergarten in PISD. My third child is hands down better prepared academically and socially for kindergarten than my other children were. The teachers, Ms. Judy and the Director of the school have given my child a very strong foundation and have fostered a true love of learning. West Plano Montessori school is the most innocent and nurturing environment that you can put your child in outside of your home. Without hesitation I would highly recommend this school to anyone.

West Plano Montessori was the first school my son attended so I was very nervous about him attending school at all. After my first school visit I was at complete peace and knew this was the caring environment for my 15 month old. Ms. Judy at the front desk made me feel so comfortable from my first meeting with her. The school is small which was what I was looking for. On most days in the baby room my an was one of five children. The caring and loving attention he received was what gave me the peace I needed to leave him. In addition to love I know my son was learning. He would come home with new words and skills that just amazed me and my husband. I visited many, many schools during my search and West Plano Montessori had the family, homey feeling I was searching for. In addition to their small caring environment I also trusted their Montessori teaching. Montessori is unfortunately not a trademark so to many schools are using the name but not doing the teaching. Do your research! The only reason we are not still with West Plano Montessori is because we moved. I recommend to all parents if your looking for a loving, nurturing environment.

We were very nervous about how our 3 yr old daughter will adjust when she started going to West Plano Montessori. On the first day, the teachers received her so warmly and with a genuine affection that I immediately knew she would be ok and she was. I see the same love and affection from the teachers everyday. Our daughter adjusted so nicely and immediately and is so excited to go to her class everyday. I fully credit the teachers for this. Within the first couple of months itself, we can see how much our daughter has learned. She cannot stop talking about her teachers and friends. I think teachers make all the difference in any school and in this school the teachers really make it a wonderful place. This school is highly recommended.

It is without reservations that I highly recommed WPMS to each and every parent who considers the Montessori system of education for their child. This school has by far exceeded my expectations of what a good school should offer. The teachers are very experienced and highly qualified in doing their job. At on point, both sons of mine attended this school before my oldest son transffered to the sister school. My younger son started attending the school at the age of 9 months. He is currently 2.5 years and I am impressed by the things he is capable of doing and by his mannerism when he is working on a new life skill or when listening to his teacher while giving him a new lesson. This school provides a very structured and happy environment for it's students. I am so glad I made the decision of enrolling both my sons at WPMS; because my oldest son continues to excell and my youngest continues to surprise my with his his growing confidence and and independence.

West Plano Montessori School has been a wonderful experience for our daughter and our family! Every day we are amazed with what our daughter has learned. We are beyond pleased. At WPMS, each teacher takes the time to focus on an individual when it comes to learning a lesson, but at the same time allows them to discover and learn on their own. But, most of all, we love the ways in which WPMS implements the Montessori philosophy of a well-rounded education that teaches our daughter grace and courtesy, how to care for her environment, and a wide range of practical life skills that are helping her develop independence and self-confidence. We love how manners and respect are a daily must. This reinforcement is helpful with what we teach at home. Finally, we are lucky that our daughter is surrounded by such caring and devoted teachers who enjoy what they do and love their students. Thank you WPMS for all you do!

WPMS is a WONDERFUL school! The moment you walk in the door you are greeted by one of the more kind and most genuine person I think I have ever meet, Ms. Judy. She and ALL the teachers at WPMS will make you and your child's experience very memorable! WPMS has a small but warm and home like feeling to it, you'll love it! The updates to the building have been welcomed and the upgrades to the outside play area have been great! Thank you WPMS!

When we initially visited this school, my wife and I decided against it because the building is outdated. So we put our children in Montessori Children's house on Hedgcoxe in Plano. After 6 months there we moved our children out because the Iranian Principal there was absolutely awful. She had a serious memory problem and couldn't remember conversations with you that she had the day before. She couldn't even remember if you visited with her! So we moved our kids to West Plano Montessori because many of our friends kids were excelling there and then moving into the advanced programs when they entered their public schools. Hesitantly we moved both our daughters there and they excelled. The teachers are awesome and the Principal (Mrs, Rena) really knows what she is doing. Both our kids graduated from there and are now in Skaggs and are in the PACE program. Don't make the mistake we made by getting distracted by the outdated buildings. Focus on the teachers and the quality of education - it is truly excellent at West Plano Montessori!!! Our two daughters when there from pre-k, to K. We actually moved them here from Montessory Children's house.

Both my son and daughter went to WPMS. They developed into fine kids ready for the public school, and WPMS gets a lot of credit for that. The school provided a nurturing, friendly, safe and loving environment. The children loved it and we remain thankful. The director Mrs. Khandpur and all the teachers were superb.

My daughter attended West Plano Montessori school for about 2yrs. We saw excellent progress acadamically and socially. She made many good friends. The teachers are dedicated, efficient and caring, kids get individual attention from teachers. School had excellent acadamic curriculum, my kid was able to skip KG and directly go for the 1st grade in public school. I love the new covered play ground and interior. We are glad that we choose the West Plano Montessori School. I would recommend this school to everyone.

Both my kids attended this school. The teachers are great, but the facility needs upgrading and there is not enough space for the kids to play

The facilities are outdated for the price they charge, the play ground is awful, it is made out of some kind of yellow stone material which leaves a yellow stain on the children's clothing and will not come off. It has no cover for the children during the summer heat. The teachers and the staff are great though.

My son attended WPMS for his Pre-K year, and it was the perfect place for him. He learned a great deal and made fantastic friends there right away. Owner and staff are just incredible and the small school atmosphere makes everyone feel welcome! We took advantage of 2 of the after-school offerings (basketball and jumpbunch) and he loved them. I simply cannot say enough about how much I love this school and how good it was for us. I highly recommend it!

Both of our children attended West Plano Montessori school ,our little one started as infant. I was impressed how fast Ms Reena was able to get the infant program in place. All the teachers and office staff are exceptional, professional. Infant program is great. Ms Nancy and Ms Judy are very caring and loving. All teachers are very caring and they motivate kids to work hard and believe in themselves. Ms Menaz is very professional in her approach with kids. My older daughter has benefitted in every way right from the pre-K class upto the elementary class. I would highly recommend parents to put their children in this school. Their children will receive quality education and the care they need.

Both my older kids went to this school from early on (20 months) to just before 1st grade. Both were very well prepared for PISD 1st grade and have done very well since. Ms. Manaz and Ms. Farah in particular deserve all the kudos. The principal is not very straightforward, especially when it comes to money related issues. One big plus for us was the fact that the school allowed kids to bring their lunch from home.

Both of my children attended West Plano Montessori school. WPMS instilled a sense of confidence and a love of learning in my kids which has helped them excel in public school. The teachers at WPMS are very caring and have the ability to motivate the kids to work hard and believe in themselves. I highly recommend prospective parents to visit the school and observe the difference in the behavior, attitude and aptitude of the WPMS children.

I would definitely recommend the parents to enroll their children in this school. You will definitely see the difference and benefit from positive environment.

My daughter attended this school prior to integrating into the Public school system. i found that she was not only prepared, but well ahead of her peers both academically and socially. The staff is devoted to each child and their individual needs. I have recomended this school to friends and they too, have been very pleased with their child's progress.

Both my kids went to this school. Teachers are what makes this school really good. My kids learnt a lot and were fully prepared for public school. The director is not very upfront, very money minded and cannot handle issues the right way. If you can get past this then your kids should do well here.

My son went to WPMS for Kindergarten and 1st grade and we were extremelypleased with the progress he made. The teachers are dedicated, efficient and caring. I think that is far more important than a brand new building etc. The school has cultivated a love of reading and learning for my son that I hope will continue henceforth.

we came to plano in 2006 and my younger son being jan born cud not go to public school one more year,so he spent 2 years in this school but i must say it was all for good ,my son became more confident and organized ,i chose this school after seeing 9 other montessori schools and what attracted me towards this school is the homely environment and strict as a well decipline school at the same time ,only probs i had with school is that it is small ,i would like to see it little bigger .and i think this school works very well on pre k level ,their stress on kids learning sounds properly has been very beneficial for my son and now he is in 2nd grade and i can see that prek fundamentals working pretty good.i would recommend this school to everyone.

My older daughter went to the school and my younger one is going there now. This is an exceptional school with exceptional teachers. We have tried other schools in the area that may look nicer on the outside but they do not compare at any level to the education and love the kids get at this school. I think one of the most important tools you can give a child at this young tender age is confidence. This school focuses just as hard on personal developments as it does education such as reading and math. Both my daughters were reading at the age of 4.

it breaks my heart to read the negative review on this school. I believe the parent (and I think it is the same one writing over and over) has misunderstood the value and philosophy of Montessori school. You first need to decide if Montessori school is right for your child and in some cases (as the case with this parent) it is not the right place for you child. Educate yourself on Montessori teaching as it is different from Day Care. Once you decide that Montessori is right then this is the best one in North Texas.

Both my kids went to the school and I highly recommend it. Infact, both my kids were so much ahead than the kids in public school that they were recommended for an acceleration and both the boys skipped a grade to continue to be academically challenged. The teachers Ms. Farah and Ms. Manaz were very patient and totally worked with me in regards to both social and academical development of my kids. Thank you for giving my kids a healthy solid beginning.

We've had our son graduate from WPMS and now our daughter goes there. It is one of the oldest montessori schools in the area and definitely one of the best. Both our kids have benefitted in every way right from the toddler class upto the elementary class. They learned to do things independently while developing their motor skills right from the start and our son went onto develop a real love for reading. Our daughter is pretty much going the same route as far as reading and writing goes. The teachers are quite tuned in to what a child needs and are professional and at the same time gentle with the kids. The principal runs a tight ship and has over 35 years of experience in education under her belt. We have nothing but praise for WPMS and its staff and would highly recommend it to people looking for quality.

Our daughter started at the school when she was 18 months. Over the course of the last couple of years we have seen her progress both academically as well as socially. We saw the effect of Montessori teachings right from the start. When she first started she had no co ordination and could not put the block puzzles in place. One month into the program she was doing just fine and could sort out pieces by color and size. The teachers and the office staff are very nice and personable. We are going to miss sending our child to the school. She is getting ready to to to Kindergarten. We would recommend the school to any parent who wants to give their child a head start in life in a loving and caring environment.

Both of my children attended this school and as a matter of fact they were very well prepared for the public school and skipped the grade and got promoted to the first grade. They both started as a todler and attended their primary and elementary class rooms as well. They didn't only do well academically but also progressed a lot socially. Their office staff and teachers are very professional. I would highly recommend the parents to put their children in this school. Their children will receive quality education. Submitted by a parent

We put our 4 yr old into WPMS Aug2008. In one week, he was reading phonetically. 6 months later, we enrolled our 2.5 yr old who had been tested with the No Child Left Behind program and was diagnosed with an 18 month delay (speech). Miss Rheena (the director) asked us to give her 3 months, and he would be talking. It actually took 4 months. (SMILE!) But his speech literally exploded from a vocabulary of less than 20 words, into full sentences. There is no school, public or private for more money or less, that we would even consider enrolling our children in after witnessing first hand the amazing care and education WPMS gives our family.

This school is awful they do not provide a well balanced educational background for the children. Nor do they provide nutritional meals. They classrooms are to small for elementary kids. I mean from the toddler room to the pre-k room they learn from sitting on the floor doing classromm work on a rug which is utterly ridiculous, and the only play time the children get is when thy go outside. Children learn from playing and if they only time they can play is outside then all i see is kids who can master sitting on the floor, doing well at outside activites.

This school should not be allowed to have an Elementary classroom. They are not educating the elementary students appropriately. They do not teach a number of important things the students in the Plano public schools are being taught. They do not teach spelling ( they refused to when I asked), independent writing ( all writing was copied from the teacher) and undereducated my son in reading all year ( despite numerous conversations). After removing him and putting him in the public school he tested at 2-3 reading grade levels above where they were teaching him at WPMS. They told me when I enrolled him at WPMS that they will teach him at his level and have up to 5th grade curriculum in the classroom. They did not teach to his level at all. We learned more in 6 weeks at public school then we did the entire year at WPMS. Stay away!

I have nothing but great praise for the director and teachers of West Plano Montessori School. I had two children attend this school in both primary and elementary school programs. They not only had excellent education but also, well prepared in all aspects to continue thier education in the public schools. I highly recommend to the prospective parents to visit the school and observe the quality difference. This is a well established school with over 25 years of full affiliation with American Montessori Society and the same well experienced director providing true montessori education.

My son was enrolled in West Plano Montessori School's Primary Program. He learned to read in his Primary Class, utilizing all the tools and methods available in the Montessori classroom. The teachers provided guidance, encouragment and discipline with respect. The warm and friendly staff made our family feel welcome and confident that our child was receiving the best care and education possible. We found the director of the school to be very professional and available whenever called upon for consultation. We would proudly recommend this school to all our friends.
