We have been a part of the SHE family since 2006. This school is constantly improving. This year there is a new principal who is destined to acheive Exemplary status. The teacher turnover is low. Only 5 new teachers this year. After school programs such as tutoring, Scrabble Club, Running Club, Honor Choir, Destination Imagination, UIL, Art Club and many others are available to all students. The strong PTA leads the way for parent and teacher communication and involvement. Due to the Title I status we get free breakfast and snack each day. We also receive free tickets to events like the Bass Hall, Casa Mananaa, Legacy Park, etc..

After moving to this area due to job relocation, my child attended this school due to 'attendance zone.' At first we really enjoyed it. There is quite a bit of parental involvement, which is wonderful and also rare these days. The entire school, (not just the economically disadvantaged) gets free breakfast in their classroom each morning, and the office staff is very friendly. My child a GT student wasn't allowed to transfer into their almost non- existant GT program. The few students I did see that were involved in GT were teachers children. Fund Raisers almost monthly. The entire district is driven by sports more than education as evident by their stadium.

Last year (03/04) my 2 daughters had to change schools and they were not happy about it at the time. They love their new school! The teachers are awsome and the administration is excellent. Someone is at the front door each morning greeting every child as they enter the school building. Every child is made to feel special and the programs they offer are so rewarding.
