I attended Terry all four years, and I have to say it wasn't all that bad. Really, the best department was by far the English department. Anyone who had to endure Mrs. Perales or Mrs. Smith can tell you that the preparation techniques they use for college level writing are verrry helpful. The rest was pretty good... math dept. maybe a little sub-standard though...

This school is going downhill. Most of the teachers just don't seem to care. The test results are horrible.

Even though the school district (LCISD) places too much emphasis on TAKS performance only, Ms. Wehring, the new principal, is committed to raising the performance of ALL students, including the upper level students. Extracurricular activities at T-High is awesome.

I'm not very satisfied with the entire school district. I don't think the teachers care enough. Also, the dropout rate is not exactly right. They don't allow a student to dropout even if they're 18 without first enrolling in another program first. This makes it a transfer rather than a dropout. So, be careful on a school's dropout rate.

Academic programs are fairly decent for the academic level. Honors and AP courses could be a little better but still offer enough decency to prepare students for higher education. Art program is awesome. Parents aren't very involved except in graduation and pro-grad events.

I went to Terry and I liked it very much. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was very crowded my last year I was there. I felt very safe and my teachers were great. I had one teacher there who taught english and I feel that I had learned a lot from her. I had a great principal and the staff there was awesome. I graduated in 2000 and if I had to go back to school, it would be Terry.
