It is wonderful to see that Round Rock has improved in the little time we have been attending. When we moved to Round Rock I was concerned that there wasn't a principle and that the score on this school was at a 6. Round Rock now has a wonderful Principle who connects with the students. He took time to shake hands with them during his first month. He seems to make everyone accountable from teacher to parents. Without the trio of Parent, Teacher, student working together, you can't expect a school to be successful. My son enjoyed ever teacher he has had. He says they joke around and have fun along with the lesson. He only complained about one teacher in Spanish who never attended class until testing time. Overall the teachers are wonderful. There is a lot of construction but it only shows signs of growth.
there is always construction going on around the school. it interrupts alot of my classes.
I feel like all of the teachers are blah and really old in their nature. My kids express that there is a lack of energy in the classroom.
RRHS is fun and there are alot of extracurricular activities. The school is old but still ok.
It has great students and is an interesting place to learn!
The staff is hard working but the patients are in charge of the asylum.
RRHS is an average school at best. While attending there a year ago, I found myself being placed in classes where they had to have another teacher in the class at all times to help the students who slack off get their diploma. The teachers do not really have the drive/passion to teach, they are just there because that is where they make money. Since graduating, I now attend UT Austin, and from a personal standpoint, RRHS did absolutely nothing to help prepare me for what UT has to offer. The classes are tough, and it just turns in to more studying for me. If you are looking to move to the area, I would recommend Westwood HS, or Mcneil HS. Both far exceed what Round Rock has to offer.
I am a 2008 Round Rock graduate. I personally found RRHS to be a great school. I have lived all over the U.S. but really felt at home in RR. It is a large school with an open campus which was nice. I thought a lot of most of the staff and administration. I especially enjoyed the lack of 'click issues' (that many other schools in the area have) and the school spirit. It was a typical Texas high school in the sense that a large number of students followed the football and other athletic teams closely. I really could go on and on about why I love Round Rock HS so much.
I am a sophomore at RRHS and I believe that this school is average. There are many students that participate in inappropriate activities and I wish there was more discipline. I have personally been having a hard time to get used to this because I am so different from other students. Other schools are much better compared to Round Rock. I prefer McNeil because I have heard many good comments about this school, from students and parents. On the otherhand, I barely hear anything good about Round Rock.
The school is old & not as clean as it should be. The teachers are OK. Most of the students are cliquish, and it's hard if you're new and don't know people. There are better schools.
