After having a terrible experience at Carroll ISD, we found The Clariden School. The school has saved our daughter. She is now thriving, and is so much better prepared for collage. Had she stayed in Carroll I am not sure she would have gone to collage. The teachers, administration, and courses of study are amazing.
There's something about a school where all the teachers know your child's name and who they are. There's something special when your child regularly says "I've got an idea and I'm going to talk with Ms. Sallie (the head of school) about it to see if we can do it." My 9-year-old has a voice in his education and in the community at Clariden. His curiosity to test "just one more experiment" is encouraged and problem-solving is ingrained into the everyday. The children are expected to help mentor one another, learn each child's strength on the team, and reach for the team's success. The project-based learning structure, the I-wish-I-got-to-go-to-school-like-this curriculum, and the amazing teachers who really bring out the best environment for all of this are without comparison in this area. Next-generation learning for generation-next.
My daughter was successful, but very unhappy in the Southlake Carroll school system given it's large and uncaring nature. Also, those schools have a tremendous amount of "big school" issues. As soon as she joined Clariden, she was instantly happy. Equally important is she is learning so much more and excelling in many ways. The school's individual attention, focus on STEM, project learning and leadership are exceptional. She would never have been able to grow and learn as much as she has at Clariden. Those large schools focus on sports and rote memorization. Thank you Clariden!
I'd like to thank Ms. Corey in the administrative offices, and Ms. Gibson in the 4/5 class for their warmth and caring during a difficult transition. They have made our son feel welcomed and loved and, as a result, he has felt comfortable giving his best. Everyone at Clariden is amazing, but these two have been special to us.
When our family moved to Texas for my work, my greatest concern was that we find a school where our Montessori schooled 8 year old would feel welcomed and comfortable. In Clariden we have found not only a school, but a community that made us feel welcome and included from the very first day. My son tells me now that he loves school - something we hadn't heard for a very long time. His teachers and staff have been able to determine what he is passionate about and help him to explore those areas. Unlike Montessori they are including science and technology into the curriculum and in doing so opened his mind to career fields he has never considered. We feel so blessed to have our son be a Clariden Cougar and are thankful to Ms. Wells and her amazing staff for what they do for our son every day.
Miss Sallie is always available to all parents and students. She loves her job and her daily dedication to the school, the wonderful staff she has hand picked , and her love for each child mirrors all she does.
The Clariden staff treats our children like their very own every single day. Their love, kindness, and true passion for teaching and developing our children at each child's own pace is impeccable. Our children have flourished since the first day they started there. Their confidence level in speaking and making presentations in front of their peers and staff is just amazing and they are only 6 and 7. The Clariden has provided the tools for the children to excel and feel confidence in every part of their daily work. And the Clariden makes the safety and the well being of each and every child a priority every day.
Sallie Wells -- thank you for being amazing! Sallie always makes time for the children and makes them feel special. As a parent, I feel confident that my kids are in good hands as long as Sallie is at the helm.
