In all my years of dealing with teachers and staff I have never received such disrespect as I did today. My child received I.S.S. last week, you would think the school would encourage parents to get involved, especially in regards to disciplinary actions. For over a week I have been calling the school to speak to the Asst. Principal or secretary in regards to this matter. I left several messages and after speaking with the counselor finally received a call back from the secretary today. She was extremely rude and almost confrontational. She made it seem like I was wasting her time and what was the point of my call. After speaking to her that my point was to speak to an adult in regards to the matter she stated my child should have already done this. After insisting I would like to hear the story again she reluctantly told me the issue. However, after her explanation of the matter, indeed the story was different which is exactly why I wanted to speak to an adult to get down to the matter. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong. I am not only trying to support the staff but was doing what I think a parent should.

I go to Garcia Middle School and i am in 7th grade. This school is a terrible school, and i would not lets my children attend it when i get older. It is not a very comfortable learning environment for students. I honestly feel the school could be improved if students and faculty put effort towards it, but nobody is so in my opinion as a 7th grade student at Garcia, that school is atrocious and lord help and student who attends it.

As a parent I have been disappointed with the administration and the teachers to handle issues of bulling at this school. They have programs that are designed to prevent this type of behavior but few seem to know about them. We moved to the area a couple of months ago and it has been one issue after another. We called the teachers who never called us back. We have requested conferences through the principle were ignored. Bulling behavior has been identified by specific students but the behavior continues to be unaddressed. Not to say the administration is completely unresponsive. The principal was sensitive to the problems, and I believe she has tried to address the issue but not enough to stop it. The teachers are too busy handing out detention for not having a pencil to stop bulling in their classes. We have never had this much trouble at any school with any of our children. Be prepared to be very active in this school.

This is an excellent school. Most of the teachers are cooperative, but some are just in your face with no reason. The principal is great, but some of the assistant principals are unsupportive. If you are super talented, you should not be going to this school. This school is for above average students. ~~Jase

This school is way over crowded. Administration has limited control of students because they are greatly outnumbered.
