Jim Ned is a great school both academically and athletically. In 2008 they were the State Champions in UIL Academics and Girls Basketball, and State Runner-up in Boys Basketball. The teachers are enjoyable and all care about the students. It's a great school to go to, the atmosphere is perfect for learning. I couldn't have asked for a better school.

Jim Ned is a great school district just on the outskirts of Abilene. It is a very safe school system that does not allow dangerous or disruptive students to remain in the normal school setting. A young man or lady can accomplish anything they set their mind to with the education and guidance of the educators in the school district. 'Top Notch'. Probably about 90 % of all students are in involved in some extracurricular activity from state award winning UIL,Band, and Athletics.

My sons attended Jim Ned when young, but a family member needing help led to having to move. Especially after my children had to attend Abernathy schools for 3 years, I am grateful they are back to Jim Ned. We had lack of communication with the HS counselor last year, leading to my oldest playing off and not graduating, but that was mostly his own fault. The superintendent is one of the most dedicated I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The HS principal is a fair and just man. The teachers are very competent and most are very dedicated to each individual student. This is one of the very best schools I have been associated with in any way!

My son was fortunate to get to attend Jim Ned High School. Our family had been part of another school district for 39 years, but our son was very unhappy there. He came as a freshman in high school and within a week, he felt like he belonged. He graduated a few years ago, but still has lots of friends and great memories of Jim Ned High as all of our family does now.

I just moved here a year ago and I already have found more friends then I had at my old school. My teachers are great. We have awesome coaches and a great sports program.

I have had two children go through the Jim Ned School system. One of them is now a student at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He attended Midwestern State University on the scholarships that he received. He was able to go into medical school a year early without having graduated from Midwestern. I would rank the teachers at Jim Ned as exceptional. They make it possible for students to gain a great deal of success.

We are fortunate that our children attended Jim Ned Schools until the end of this year (2003). Our oldest was a senior last year, and we also had a junior and a freshman in the high school. The high school is fairly new, although the commons area is not big enough to accomodate all the students for lunch, so lunch periods start early and run late. Last year, the high school counselor retired, and a wonderful teacher/counselor stepped up to fill that position. She has helped all of us understand the college admission process and done a very good job of letting our other children know what they must do to get into the schools they wish to attend. The system is fortunate to have some dedicated teachers. Jim Ned's enrollment is increasing even as other schools in the area lose students.
