The political climate of the district has deteriorated and is reflected in the lower quality of classroom instruction. The focus is primarily on football, while the science and math curriculum continues its downward spiral.

Van ISD puts the students first, and that is the reason for the success that they have seen in the district. The focus on and love for the students drive the curriculum, athletics programs, and all other extracurricular activities. In a school where the kids are loved and nurtured like this, it is no surprize that the quality of all programs is exemplary! Programs like drama and FFA are top notch, Vandal athletics are at the top of thier respective games, and the students that enter into the college world and the work force are prepared and ready for the situations that they encounter. I am proud that my kids get to attend a great school like this!

My child loves this school. Everybody is somebody at this school. Their academics are challenging, the theatre arts, band, and athletics programs are excellent, and they even have a wonderful character development program. I would recommend this school to anyone!

classrooms are overcrowded. Athletics are very good. A lot of parent involvement. This is a clickish community. If you are new and have a lot of money you will do very well. The town itself is very nice and cute.
