I want to say Thank You to Mr. Linam for being the great Vice Principle that he is. He has great patience with the kids, is fair to all and manages to get to the bottom of problems and issues. He was a savior for my grandson this year as we went through many emotional problems and anxiety attacks due to custody issues and Mr. Linam was there with such patience and caring and helped my grandson overcome many issues. The importance of my grandson knowing that someone was there for him at school at anytime was a safety net for him. It is now almost the end of the school year and the change my grandson has gone through with Mr. Linam's help is very evident and we are very grateful to him.
I do not hear much about the teachers, I hear that the kids are constantly disrupting the class and how the teachers are yelling. I hear about the whining going on, how the whiners do not understand anything, on the whining because so and so will not let me copy his or her paper. I do know the AVID teacher is well liked.
Yes, the bullying is persistent and the students who do not do their work are determined to never do it, but they want to copy the ones who do their work. Grit would mean hard work and my child has developed that from us, since we all are hard workers and know the importance of school, this school does not develop that in the students. It cannot be developed by passing the same kids that flunk and do not do the work and that does not mean doing it in summer school.
One cannot develop respect, it is to be earned and to treat others with respect. Yes, my child is respected by being shoved out of the way, by being yelled at to get out of the way, being made fun of because he reads a lot and gets good grades and he is ridiculed for that reason.
My child learns this in Sunday School and in church, how to have compassion and to care for others. This school develops the opposite by letting the "whiners" win, the same kids to not do their work, and it shows that disrespect and being lazy is to be rewarded.
no, there is way too much lying and stealing going on. one cannot develop these virtues when there is way too much bullying going on, the teachers are screaming at the same students day after day, students not doing their work, copying off others, and then the student who is being copied or even shoved is the one to get punished.
This school is terrible and the health department should step in. Bathrooms, especially the boys are filthy, broken, no soap, feces on walls, no lights, no soap, and as of today, March 22, 2016 they are once again broken and flooding. Bugs in classrooms, not enough classroom space, no lockers, pushing and shoving, no respect at all.
