School personel has no clue as to the education laws, do not offer hardly any help for special needs children. Teachers have been seen yelling at kids in the hall. Maybe more involvement and less pajama days are needed. Personel seems as though they do not want parents involved.

Poor School! Not a fan of teachers screaming at students.I could hear it down the hall, when i entered the building. I was shocked to find out it was my child's teacher. Poor Leadership quality. Parent involvement not welcome. I have 5 kids and 3 grandchildren.

I enjoy Venus very much. My daughter has had nothing but great teachers who are willing to spend all the time needed for her to reach her goals. The Principal this year has been wonderful with all the kids that I have seen him with. And is always willing to speak to me when I ask to. I think there doing great!

Venus primary is in a poor school district. This shows throgh in their inability to hire the teachers needed. There discipline strategy is inadequate.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

The test results by subgroup show how the designated group of students is performing in comparison to the general population.
  • In 2010-2011, this school was rated "Academically Unacceptable".
  • In 2009-2010, this school was rated "Recognized".
  • In 2008-2009, this school was rated "Academically Acceptable".

About the tests

Texas uses Accountability Ratings to indicate the overall performance of each school and district. The ratings are based on TAKS test results, dropout rates for grades 7 and 8 and school completion rates for grades 9 through 12. Schools and districts rated under standard accountability procedures are designated as Exemplary, Recognized, Academically Acceptable or Academically Unacceptable. Schools and districts rated under alternative education accountability (AEA) procedures are designated as either AEA: Academically Acceptable or AEA: Academically Unacceptable.
