My son is currently attending Westmore, and I am not very happy with it. His first grade teacher is not impressive. If your child is gifted, they will be overlooked, and labeled as a trouble maker at this school. Their curriculum caters to kids who are below average.

Westmore recently received an award as one of the top schools in the state for raising student's test scores. I have several children who attend Westmore. They receive an excellent education from skilled teachers who genuinely care about the success of each child. It is, to be sure, a challenging teaching assignment with many students who don't speak English and even more who struggle due to lack of basic necessities. I think the staff does and excellent job in very difficult circumstances

I have had two children in this preschool program and they have both done excellent and it's free!! It's a great program to get kids ready for kindergarten.

Westmore students seem to suffer due to the lack of teaching skills available to them. It seems that the senior teachers lack the energy of being there for 'all or even most' of the students, and the newer teachers attrition rate is pretty high. The administration seems to struggle with the dynamics of the student population. They also lack the implementation of an appropriate strategy for strengthening the children while they are at school. Parent involvement is minimal.

I love the staff at Westmore Elementary. They take a genuine interest in each student. I know they want each child to succeed. They have supported my daughter through the death of her father, as well as helping her overcome reading and focus challenges. Each step of the way, I have had the full support of Westmore's teachers and administration. The after school enrichment programs give my daughter the outlet she needs to expend energy and sate her curiosity, while learning something new and interesting. The classes challenge her, helping her experience success! True, other schools may boast higher test score but at Westmore Elementary my child has grown not only academically, but emotionally and socially into a well balanced young lady. Her happiness and confidence are things no 'test' can measure.
