I am very disappointed in the quality of education at this school. 6th grade has not been challenging at all. The teacher seems to be more interested in making it through the day than challenging the students. On a recent spelling test the teacher told the students that if they got close, that would be good enough! Art is a joke at this school, the students are bringing in pictures for the other students to draw. There is no formal instruction for Art. This school may be good in the lower elementary grades, but horrible in 6th.

I have been very pleased with this school. The school is challenging for my child but not over whelming. My child talks very highly of the teacher and other students. The teacher is great with responding with email issues within the same day.

My daughter is a kindergartener at Eastlake and so far I LOVE her teacher and the programs the school uses to further healthy life choices as well as education. There is some bullying, but i place blame on the snooty parents, not the teachers. The office staff has been wonderful and attentive.

We moved from out of state having high expectations for a brand new elementary school and for the curriculum. Wow, it's been quite a let down. Unless you get a teacher who really knows the Utah education system and seeks to aim higher, kids are going to fall behind at this school. My daughter pretty much repeated kindergarten as a 1st grader here. They are not even introducing double digit math even by the end of the school year. My other children were not stretched as well; pretty frustrating. The front office is not attentive, I left my daughter a bag of comfort things for their "movie day" she told me to leave it and they would get it to her, come to find out she never received it and when I came to pick it up; no apology, just excuses. Another time I came in and the ladies were eating. The xtra programs that go on seem so frustrating, instead of "fun" and there's no excitement and seems to be a lack of organization and confidence in the ranks.

This school is fantastic. Eastlake Elementary also has a Chinese Immersion program started in 2010/2011 school year. The principal is top notch with a good handle on her school and is very responsive to parents. The teachers work hard and collaborate with each other to increase student performance. Communication with the teachers has been positive in the two years we have been there. The literacy team is strong and the ability to get the students on grade level is amazing. My child enjoys the students at this school and there is a lot of school spirit happening here. Overall, as a former teacher I have been very happy with the school and the education my child is receiving.

My daughter has attended this school now for 2 years. First year was 2nd grade and second year was 3rd grade. The 2nd grade teacher was fantastic in many ways. The 3rd grade teacher is good but needs improvement as she is a file-cabinet teacher and needs to use new methods.
