School has an atmosphere where bullying flourishes , the school management was extremely lax in dealing with this issue.

Jericho Elementary is a very friendly school with enthusiastic teachers and staff. The school Counselor and Principal are very involved in positively solving any problems that may arise during the school year. I found their kindness, wisdom and availability profoundly helpful in dealing with issues that came up during the school year. This school is a great school in so many ways..I'm very thankful our son is there!

Awesome small town school. The principal is wonderful, she is really involved in everything. Always in the hallways and there to answer any questions. I feel that the school has a strong principal and has great leadership. The teachers are excellent. I feel that they have great communication skills and are always challenging the students. Both of my kids love going to school everyday, and love their teachers. Everytime I walk into the school everyone has a great attitude. It shows that they love what they do. The secretaries are so sweet too, they will always be there to answer the phone if you ever need anything. This school is a hidden gem. Jericho Elementary is an all around excellent school. They also have the best speech therapist. If your child has an IEP or special needs do not worry, they have a wonderful staff and they are very accommodating.

Jericho Elementary School is an excellent parent involved school where the teachers give 110% and are willing to go the extra mile for the children to succeed. I find this school to be all about the children.

About the tests

In 2013-2014 Vermont used the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in reading and math, grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing and grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The NECAP reading, math, and writing tests are given in the fall and test students on content taught in the previous year. The science portion of the NECAP is administered in the Spring each year and has its results released the following Fall. As a result, GreatSchools' ratings for Vermont currently reflect 2012-13 test results, the most recent year with data for all subjects.

2013-14 state-level results are not available for the Vermont NECAP; please see here for more information.

The NECAP is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Vermont. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level on the test.
