We have two children in this school and we are pleased with the quality of the teachers and the education. Our oldest child is sufficiently challenged by new concepts and our youngest child received additional help when we feared he was falling behind. The teachers have different styles and personalities that are recognized by the administrators and addressed in a meaningful way. For example, our youngest child was placed with a teacher that the administrators, previous year's teacher, and counselors felt would work best with his quirks. I'm impressed.

I am very disappointed with the last review that merely says it is a bad school without any explanation. I am weary of good and bad reviews that come without explanation. So I will explain why I believe it is an excellent neighborhood school. It has a very active parent community and PTA that provides many afterschool enrichment activities that are open to all students. The majority of teachers and staff are superb. and inspiring. Not all teachers are excellent but that is not the case anywhere. My son had an excellent first year with a teacher that constantly inspired him. This year he had a harder transition to a full day in first grade, but got wonderful help from the guidance department and always felt that the staff at the school (all 3 principals) had his back. when he showed signs that things were less than last year, I reached out to the staff and they responded immediately. I ask parents who are not happy, what are they doing to improve the situation. Also this school has the latest technology available for learning and they integrate it into the curriculum well. Most schools, even in the same county, do not provide the experiences available at Little River.

It's a great school with a great staff who truly cares about the children. The children are in a loving environment all day long, and they are encouraged to learn in a way that makes it fun. The parents involvement at this school is great, many parents volunteer at the school and contribute to their kids success. We love our school!!!

Good teachers, but there is way too much focus on sol test by school administrators. The principal makes things difficult for any student who is different, whether they are special Ed, ld, or gifted. If your child is average they will enjoy a good education in a safe andvwarm atmosphere. Parents are very involved.
