Covenant is a great school. My son attends the lower school and is thriving. He is growing in intellect, spirit, study skills, and athleticism. The leadership has changed in 2010. Lower school administrators are compassionate, attentive, and enthusiastic. Teachers are nurturing and challenging. I would definitely recommend grades PK-6. My son is quite certain Covenant is the best school in Charlottesville.

The lower school is excellent as the teachers and administration are very caring about the kids in all aspects. I would recommend the lower school to anyone. The upper school is a totally different story. The administration is not willing to help and the teachers are below average to say the least. It is definitely not worth the tuition they charge. Athletic programs are poor and the Headmaster is all about the arts. Does not listen to the parents for input. Therefore, I moved my kids to the public school and they are much happier.

I found the administration of the lower school to be closed-minded and unwilling to work with parents in a collaborative effort . I have found that this is a common theme among other parents with which I have spoken regarding their experience. Unfortunately, I also found that parents are discouraged from expressing their concerns/opinions and have no recourse if they strongly disagree with the way in which specific incidents are handled. In my view, the academics are also substandard. I would strongly discourage parents of kindergarteners against enrolling their child, but first grade is rumored to be better. In financial terms, the return on investment is deficient. On a more positive note, the school is small, most of the faculty are nurturing and really enjoy being educators, and the environment overall is nurturing and close knit.

I went to The Covenant School for my 10th grade year. I have never experience just a education they provided for me. They thought many things about the world. Not only will you have a great education you will also have a great environment to learn at. The teachers are wonderful; they care about your grades and your outside life too. Covenant is the best

My son moved from a school in Greene county this year to Covenant. The staff and teachers are unbelievable. They are each well educated in the subjects they teach and make learning fun and interesting. My son came home this week and said 'Mom Algebra II is fun. I never knew math could be fun.' Way to go Covenant.

We are a Christian family, but our child crossed over from a public school last year. We are very pleased with our daughter's teachers and academic programs. She has become a more responsible student has made more quality friendships. Although we come from a lower class region of Charlottesville, covenant has given my daughter a good sense of Christian servitude and exposure. I recommend this school to anyone who wants education and responsibility to be focal points in the life of their developing child.
