This school has been perfect for both of my kids with very different situations. I pulled my boys out of private school after 3 years there. My older son (4th) has difficulties with attention, anxiety and staying on task. My younger son was shy and not reading at all when he started K there. They worked with me and came up with many tools to help my son and truly made us feel like his success was important to them (not just by words, but actions and accommodations). From the teacher to the administration, they have all been amazing. Both of my older son's teachers have Master's degrees and patience, a great combo. My younger son has blossomed. Not only is he very social, he's adding, subtracting and reading on his own. His progress was astounding and tells me everyday that he has the nicest teacher in the world. Additionally, any concerns I've had along the way were addressed immediately. We haven't had any problems with other students either. They are very kind and help each other, which is encouraged. So glad we switched, the anxiety was relieved in just weeks of attending this school.
Even though my daughter was a kindergartner in this school for just one semester (then we moved), I really think this is a great school. The teachers are kind and helpful. They have a lot of activity to get parents involved. They send me their monthly publication to keep me updated for their events (They do have a lot of events). As a kindergartner, no graded homework. But my daughter took home a "homework" every Tuesday and turned it in every Friday. It's a fun place for my daughter.
We have four children enrolled at Providence & I am most impressed by the teachers. They are well-educated, enthusiastic & approachable. They clearly reflect the attitude of the school's principal, Jesse Kraft. He's a shining star! He's very out-going & works hard. We're very pleased with Providence. Keep up the great work!
It is a such a nice school. Priciple has lot of energy. Teaching staff and office staff are so cooperative. My both kids are going in the school. Yes, rating is not good but I don't have any complain about study.
I have lots of positive comments, that most of reviewer has already spoke about. Two very important point that I want to mention (already been said in prior reviews), is that, they really do not challange their student curriculum wise, thay do not give enough home works, I have compared home works with other ES , same grade, PES has a very low grade. The second aspect is that majority of their office staff are rude. Few of them are exceptionaly good.
Providence has provided both of our children an excellent eduction! The teaching staff along with the support and admin staff has always been extremely helpful and willing to do whatever is necessary to ensure a positive environment. We count ourselves lucky to have such an open, positive and community oriented school in our neighborhood.
I came from Singapore, and have stayed at Fairfax for only six months. From what we have experienced in the last 6 months, we want to say that this is a great school, and the teachers are very caring and inspiring. Thanks for all your hard work.
Great teachers and great resources as far as arts, reading, special education. My only complaint is the office staff- they are often rude and not friendly or helpful. The principal is fabulous but her administrative staff in the office could use a crash course in good customer service. This has been my only complaint for the 3 years that my child has attended.
I have lived in many places. This is the first school that has taken my three children at their individual levels and challenged them where they are at. My first grader was doing 3rd grade work! The teachers and principle are extremely responsive and wonderful.
Providence Elementary is a terrific school. The staff is very warm with all the children and supportive of fun get-together events throughout the year. The principal is very responsive to parent needs and concerns.
