Both of my children continue to thrive at LMS. They have had wonderful teachers who have pushed them to excell which is further backed up at home. Perhaps this is the key to a good education: parents need to be involved in their childrens education and activities. In my home, my kids education is number one. Period. I would recommend LMS to anyone moving to this area.

My family has had great experiences at Lancaster Middle School. Now an 8th grader, she is responsible, caring and loves school. She is ready to hit the high school scene next year. The administration is very supportive and the majority of teachers have gone out of their way to help my child succeed. We have a few incidences with teacher or student difficultiies that were handled in an appropriate manner. Thank you LMS! You are the greatest!

I have been very happy with the superior quality of the Teachers at this LMS and the Admin who go the extra mile to give every child attention. I agree that the County Government should be more favorable to the schools. However I'm amazed that in spite of this their is great concern from the teachers. Both my kid are thriving and have excellent self esteem from attending LMS

My experience with Lancaster County School deteriorates with each new year. LMS has been a different story. Many of the teachers just seem bitter and should probably change careers. The principal has been very responsive whenever I've had concerns, but there seems to be a systemic problem with teacher attitudes and very unprofessional behavior. I realize these are symptoms of a bigger problem - the school system appears to be a nuisance to county government. They've always had bigger priorities and needed school resources and teacher salaries always take a back seat. My family is moving just so my kids won't have to go to LHS.

We moved from another state and have experienced several problems with bullying and little recourse from the administration. My son loves the band program, they are known throughout the east coast and go on a annual trip either to Florida or another country. The current principal is not very supportive of disciplining those who bully the upper grade students. Very disappointed with the administration in this area. The gifted program doesn't exist and many students who haven't passed the 8th grade SOL are still advanced to the high school with limited skills.

We moved from Culpeper County Virginia to Lancaster area schools a year ago in 2004/05. We are thoroughly pleased with the quality of the middle school; the teachers, principal and Asst. Prin. are all wonderful and caring people and go the extra mile to help your child 'settle in' to the new school environment. The music dept. is excellant as are the teachers. The sport programs are competitive and we experienced the football as well the baseball programs through our son..he loves being a 'Red Devil'. My husband and I are more than satisfied with the school and hope this helps others who are thinking of moving to the area soon.
