I dont know I think that the teachers should be better trained to deal with students with special needs or atleast be able to recognize when a student needs extra help.

My child started October 2006 after attending another Loudoun County school, and even though the class size was smaller at the previous school, we are very happy with almost all of the aspects of Emerick. I do wish that the PE class would concentrate on more physical activities and less on cup stacking and other spectator activities and I would like to see the students outside more often. I do feel the teachers are great but they are given too much to accomplish in one day, they need more time to focus on things instead of switching subjects every 15-25 minutes. Over all I can't complain, it seems like my child is right where he should be.

Below average academic programs. Music and art and PE are part of the curriculum. There are too many children with special needs that have trouble keeping up with the required skills, so the rest of the students that are on track or ahead of the requirements get left behind with no attention.

We moved from Montgomery Co. MD last year and heard good things about this school. We couldn't be happier. The teachers are ammazing. Their patience and understanding is exactly what a parent is looking for. They find a way to nurture each child in their own way and keep the communication b/n teacher and parent open. The administrative staff is far beyond competent. Their discipline is fair and just, the organization is exemplary and their attitude is always pleasant. This school is one that will actually make a difference in your child's education. Our son was having difficulty being challenged in his previous school, but Emerick had no issues. They are able to teach the entire class the together, and yet find ways to make sure each child is learning at their highest level. He loves going to school and we love sending him here.
