I'm not in SMS yet but i went to the first orientation and I've heard bout it from kids going there. The school looks okay on the inside... it might need a couple of repairs. To me it felt kind of dark like, the lights were kinda dim to me but, I went when it was raining. The band played REALLY good on orientation. Kids in SMS have told me that some of the teachers can be strict but most are really nice!!!! :)
My son is finishing up his thrid and final year at Spotsy Middle this week and will be bittersweet for us. He came here after being homeschooled for several years and the transition was awesome. The teachers are so great and the staff is wonderful. I have enjoyed being on the PTA and volunteering. The older building is no indication of the people inside, it is a wonderful school and the Principals are wonderful. Thanks for a great time.
My daughter attended Spotsylvania Middle for all three years, and is on her way to high school in the fall. Spotsylvania Middle has been the best experience for both of us. The principal is the best administrator I've had the pleasure of dealing with, and the teachers actually care about their students. I'm proud to say I'm a parent of a SMS Bulldog!
My family moved to Spotsy specifically for the schools. My son was homeschooling and wanted to go back to school, however the schools in our town were less than adequate. I was a bit nervous about the transition but he has done remarkably well. He loves going to school, actually disappointed about snow days. He complains about a couple of the teachers, typical 'she is too strict' or 'She expects too much' type of things. Every time I've called the school my calls were either answered or immediately returned. They are extremely helpful and I'm glad we made the choice to move.
its my last year in this school..and i absolutely loved it here.i was new to this school in 7th grade.I have too many good memories. I recommended this school to other students because u learn so much here in hoe to respect other people. This school won't take no for an answer. So over all..im goin to miss this school.and im sure that im going to visist my teachers for actually listen to mein scool.
I went to SMS the past 3 years and I've had many good memories. But some of the teachers are uncaring and overall bad, on the other hand many other teachers are probably some of the best. SMS is in very poor condition and the county should consider rebuilding it. The music program is excellent, and the sports are very good as well. The past year SMS did suffer from overcrowding but now it has dropped about 200 students when Post Oak Middle School opened. But overall, this is a very adequate school.
The teachers are tremendously caring and nice! They understand that not all students work on the same level as their pupils. The guidance department is very helpful in all of your needs!
