We love this school, thus far. My son is in kindergarten and he loves his teacher, class, and school. I volunteer often there and also enjoy my experiences working with his teacher. My son loves the special classes (art, music, computer, library, PE) and is happy everyday about going to school. I think the principal and staff are professional and do not know what the other parent is talking about. I think this is a great elementary school.

This school is horrible. They expect all children to be perfect and have no patience for children who are not. They are very unprofessional and treat parents terribly.

This is one of the worst schools in the area. Do yourself and your child a favor and send them elsewhere.

My son went to this school for two years (kindergarten and first). It was the worst two years of my life. He cried everyday. Mcswain is living off of an old reputation. Times have change. Their methods of teaching have not kept up with the new programs and research. We sold our house and moved to the county so that he could get a good education. One where he would be happy and have the teachers and staff care about him as a person. We, also, wanted him to be able to attend the WRE program without being in a hostile environment. He is now a happy 4th grader who stays on the honor role. He, also, did outstanding on the SOL testing in 3rd. We couldn't be happier to be away from Thomas C. Mcswain
