James Wood High School

I have two children who have attended James Wood HS and with the outstanding educational staff, both have exceeded in there educational goals. James Wood staff takes an individual interest in each students educational needs and works with them to see them excell. The Principal, staff and parents are all top-notch! The Athetic Association and Football program really enhance the James Wood sports. We left Fairfax County school district in order for our children to recieve an exceptional eduction in Frederick County...and to be able to enjoy the beauty of the area without the rat race;)

The school and teachers are great. The students have a lot of disrespect for each other. The band director knows what he is doing, and is great. All together this school is a good school.

James Wood is Great, their football program is the best around - I have a junior and freshman that play and they love the coaches. The team spirit and team loyalty is really instilled in them.

i am/was/kind of a freshman at james wood (in an alternative school now), i was treated very unfairly by students and teachers alike. i am absolutely in love with the band, the director is amazing, he knows what a marching band is all about and he wants it right. he is brutal about it but thats the way its supposed to be. on the other hand, all of the students in the band shun anyone whos different or dont get along with many people. kind of like the rest of the school. the students love to gossip and spread rumors about everyone especially the kids who are different. if you dont have a group of friends to be with all the time, youre screwed. im sure i experienced this partially just because of the way i am personally, but i found it very wrong and upsetting and no one deserved that
