i thought this was a good school and boy was i mislead.my child was in kindergarten. She came home crying alot when asking the teacher she blamed the aide when asking the aide she blames the teacher. i have transfered her to another school a few miles away and she is so happy she is learning things more at the new school. the office staff at neabsco are very rude and the principal is about what makes him look good. My child was late for school 5 times and missed 3 days the princpal calls me for a conference bc she was a transfer student. after he finished talking i kindly let him no that his kndergarten teacher has been late to school several times, leaves early and misses quite a few days a month. so if he wants to set a example he needed to start with his staff first. Thank you god she is out of that school. i do not recommend anyone going to school there please move out of the district. they don't even deserve one star.
If you are considering moving to this district, think again. Take it from a parent, you are better off in a different school. The principal is brand new & is more concerned with test scores than individual students needs. There is no discipline procedure other than to panic and punish. Principal is an alarmist who will call you for minor behavior issues. Our experience has been a nightmare. He doesn't listen to your concerns, will back bad decisions by teachers and will tell you "we have yrs. of experience & we know what we're doing."
I have had 3 children either formerly or currently enrolled in Neabsco for a total of 6 years. In all of those years we have only had one average teacher all of the others have been excellent ! All of my children were at or above grade level. Linda Trexler, the principle has done amazing things! Neabsco has a very diverse student body but in no means is scary as a former teacher posted how unprofessional! I do have to agree the office staff is rude.
I taught at this school for one year. It was the scariest year in my teaching career. Many years later I still have nightmares about that place. Linda Trexler is a saint to come to this school. She is the best thing that could of ever happened there.
My children's teachers are great. MOST staff is. Office staff is beyond rude and always acts as if you are bothering her. I am a VERY active parent and am there on a daily basis. DAILY I see office being rude to both adults and children (unless of course principal is there). Security is an issue as well...county fails to see this. Need better subs as well...someone that the children can understand would be a help. Staff needs to support after school activities- not leave it all to 1 person.
My child currently attends the school and I love it. I am very involved, I attended the back to school nights and whatever function concerning the kids I am there. The school is great. I am very particular when it comes to my kids education and I must say I have had only good expeirences with the teachers and the office staff. I have dealt with the office staff on several different occasions and each time they were nice, helpful and friendly. I don't know what was going on in previous years but as of Jan. 2006 everything is great and up to par. I am a very satisfied and pleased parent.
My children have not attended Neabsco that long, but I have seen how much they enjoy their new teachers and environment. I have also spoken with their teachers, and I sincerely believe they are committed to my children's success. My duaghters attend SACC there as well, so I am 'in the building' every day. I agree to an extent about some of the comments regarding the office staff. I think they need to realize that, in many ways, they are the 'face' of Neabsco, the first people the parents see when they go in there, and I did sense a lack of order/process in some cases. However, overall, I think my kids are really thriving here.
This is my first year teaching at Neabsco. I would not want to teach anywhere else. I am so proud to work in a school full of dedicated teachers. Our principal goes above and beyond her call of duty each day. It breaks my heart to read some of the comments on this board. Neabsco truly is a school of excellence! I am so proud to say I work at Neabsco!
I have been teaching at Neabsco for six years. Everyone at the school works very hard. We have high expectations for ourselves and our students. I am very disappointed by the following posts. The parents that have posted comments do not know the whole story and are making accusations that are not true. It really makes me sad to read these because Neabsco is a great school! If you do not like what is going on, get involved with the school. We have so many wonderful programs and activities that happen at Neabsco. If you want your child to have dedicated and hard working teachers then this is the school for you. The staff and students are really Neabsco STARS!
The office staff is rude to both parents and especially the students. My son's speech teacher quit halfway through the year and the school failed to provide a replacement for her. This school is just awful.
