I have a daughter at Smothers who will be entering the 4th grade this year. The teachers are nice, but like the other parent stated there are no extra activites for the kids to participant in. The school lacks in that department. I feel as though if the community stands behind the school and puch for more to be done it may happen.
My son attended Smothers for PK-K, we are now transferring him to a school in MD. I liked the small community feeling of the school but it definitely lacked resources. All the extracurricular activities have been dropped, by the principal. The PTA is non existent. MY son excelled while the rest of the class struggled. 1 out of 20 is not a success in my book. Great teachers, but something is definitely missing.
I love Smother's Elem School. My daughter is a 1st grade student. She has done nothing but great things here. Her teacher, Mrs. Sellers, is an excellent teacher w/many years of experience. I could not have chose a better school.
