My daughter just started at NCS after being at her old school since she was in the woddler room. The staff and teachers have all been wonderful in making this transition as smooth as possible and to help her feel like she is welcomed in her new school. Ms. Linda in the morning has been a blessing to both me and my daugther as we are met each morning with a smile and open arms for my daughter. I feel confident when I leave that she is in good hands. Her teacher Ms. Lisa is amazing! In just the few weeks we've been here she has learned so much. Everyone at NCS is wonderful and most helpful!
My daughter has gone to NCS since preschool, and I am sad that this will be her last year at the school (1st grade is as high as they go!) She went from a non-reader to a gifted reaser and speller in only a few months with Ms. Taylor, and we have been very pleased with their respect of our non-traditional religious views (no birthdays etc.) THe treat each child as an individual and help them along at their own pace. I will be sad to have to move to another school next year.
NCS is a fantastic school and I'm sorry they don't go to 6th grade! The main Kindergarten teacher has over 20 years of experience and all of the staff is outstanding. Kids get over an hour of exercise every day even when raining due to covered play decks and also get music, Spanish, and computer time twice a week. Monthly field trips and two trips a month to the library round out the 'fun' stuff. My daughter has developed excellent social and negotiating skills while learning to read, add, subtract, multiply and so many other skills that put her ahead of her public-school peers. The kids are encouraged, not pushed, and I think the 11:1 ratio (vs. 18:1 at the nearby elementary) really does matter. Parents are as involved as they like and many of us spend time at the school every week. A++
