I find it hard to believe the reviews I have read here about NMS. While I do agree that Ms. Gaub is a fantastic teacher and the children love her, I dis agree with the standards of the school. I believe that the faculty does as little as possible and puts these kids future at risk. Children deserve to be graded daily and have homework every day. What is this make up test if they score poorly, or deciding on their own punishment. What happened to, 'you are being disruptive, go see the principal ?' I mean kids kissing in the halls smoking in the bathroom? Where is the supervision? A child is a child for a reason and teahcers are there to give kids the chance to learn. not dis able them..

North Middle School is a wonderful school where kind, talented teachers encourage a love of learning in my children. Ms. Gaub is an extraordinary film, art, and technology teacher whose students often win contests for their work in her class. Ms. Shepherd is the most effective positive principal I've ever met, who is committed to every student's success both at school and in life. The school rule 'no one has the right to interfere with the learning, safety, and wellbeing of others' it creates positive respectful relationships in classrooms among the students, teachers, and staff.

As a teacher at North Middle School, I have seen a huge amount of change in the three years I have been there. We can proudly say we have made AYP, are always looking for ways to improve student learning, and we do reach out to the community. North offers great activities that surround academics. We have a Math and literacy night that invites the community to become involved in their student's education. Nightly there is a homework club. Students who are not meeting standards are given support classes that are exciting and using the latest technology. Our sports teams shined this year: district champs in football, track, and cross-country. Our band received fantastic scores at competition and have been asked to play at community events. Parent volunteers are great when called on, but wish I saw more willing to help in the classrooms or at afterschool activities.

I have seen tremendous improvements at North in the past three years. Test scores, overall discipline, respect level and general comraderie of the faculty all have risen. It seems like the teachers and staff there really enjoy being there. There is a tremendous amount of parent involvement~it's just a different school than it was four years ago.

NMS has had an outstanding Principal the last 3 years. With her leadership and high caliber of staff, NMS students receive a great education. As a parent, I have been very impressed with the postitive changes and the constant advocating for students & their families.

I think North Middle is a great school for Everett students. There are many improvements being made to North this year and next. The sports and music programs at North are vital to the school and they have pride in their students who strive to be the best!

North Middle has a long way to go to become an acceptable place for our children to learn. There is a tremendous amount of bullying and violence - much of which is not dealt with. There are a few teachers who go out of their way for the kids... but that doesn't make up for the many things this school lacks.
