I am surprised by the reviews of parents that boast an elementary with declining test scores & rising classroom sizes. Bullying is not being dealt with & the victims to this day are treated as if they did something to cause it. The Principle & VP have left for greener pastures to be replaced by less experienced staff. Edge is not special & should not be put on a pedestal; saying something is great does not make it so. I wont cover up what is going on & pretend its o.k. My pts are valid because my children & I lived life at Edgerton & I know how we were treated. If 1 Parent or 1 Student is treated inappropriately by Edgerton PTA, Staff, or Teachers it is TOO MANY. Its not funny, not o.k. and not only my problem. They say they have 0 tolerance well I have 0 tolerance too especially for people who think they are better that EVERYONE ELSE and for grown women & men that create cliques under the name of charity, and for parents and students that are treated less than their peers because they arent on the inside of the parental clique ran and fronted by the dreaded Edgerton PTA. PTA is like MTA, "A long time ago it used to be good now it's nothing like it was orginally created for."
Edgerton is a great school. Very active volunteers in classrooms, plenty of parent support for teachers. Awesome staff and leadership. I would highly recommend this school to ayone considering moving into this area.
Great school, great teachers and great staff. I have had a child with an IEP and every teacher he has had has been truly on board with what needs to happen with my child. Great PTA who support the children and the teachers. This school is a 10 out of 10! Good job Mr. Kovacs.
I can not say enough good things about Edgerton. My son attended kindergarten here for the 2009/2010 school year and had a great experience. The school itself is quite new and has everything an elementary school could want. The staff is exceptionally upbeat, helpful and generally positive. Mr. Kovacs, the principal leads with much enthusiasm and great skill. Mrs. Dent (my son's teacher) is both warm and professional. Even the parent participation is unmatched. As a parent you always feel welcome and can give your time in any number of ways. Also, the PTO is very open and inviting. Their one (yes, just one!) fundraiser -Wolfwalk 2009- was very successful and a great change from the tedious selling of products that is found at many schools. In all a great and positive learning environment!
Edgerton Elementary is a wonderful school, and the surrounding neighborhoods that comprise Sunrise are filled with good and decent people. The teachers at Edgerton seem to all have the kids' best interests at heart, and the Principal Guy Kovacz is a fantastic leader. Keep up the good work!
Our family feels very welcomed and truly enjoys attending school as well as after school activities at Edgerton Elementary! The staff is friendly and always seems to be enjoying their job. Go Wolfpack!
Fabulous school! Principal and staff are very kid centered!
