Well, it's a good thing there isn't a rating for the students because they would get a big 0. My daughter is being harrassed by boys & the girls are rude to her. She asked a teacher who pretended to care why don't they do a program that Oprah has repeated on the show that solves this situation & she kind of said that would be nice. That's it.

My son went here for nearly three years and had a very positive experience most of the time; he enjoyed it much more when it was a middle school (6, 7 & 8). He says the rewarding of good citizenship went away when they changed to a junior high - now there is a focus on negative behavior. The school stopped using a reward system for good behavior. While the 8th grade 'teaming' concept was excellent and the teachers seem to really be on the same page and work well together with high standards I cannot say the same for the 9th grade experience my son has had. Currently my daughter is in 9th grade and doesn't enjoy it. There's a lack of extracurricular programs compared to the Kitstap schools. The highlite for my son was a trip offered by the 8th grade history teachers to Washington DC: T'WAS THE BEST!

This school is okay, but I wish the teachers focused more on the basics and not so much on the State (WASL) testing. Some students are not getting enough of the basics (reading, writing, math, history, etc.). Although the extras are great! The teachers and staff have been very helpful and allow all the parent interaction as possible. My daughter has really picked up her grades and attitude since entering the 8th grade. The extracurricular activities (band, choir, etc.) are what has helped her focus on her future.

Great school for the developing mind, many different types of extracurricular activities along with all learning abilitties that are all pushed to their levels.
